Description

Join the 1 million+ drivers enjoying quick and easy, short-term car insurance with Cuvva.

Download the Cuvva app and get covered in minutes. Lend or insure your own car, or borrow one whenever you need to. Our policies last from 1 hour to 28 days, so you can:

- Drive your new wheels home from the dealership
- Share the drive with friends on your next road trip
- Borrow a car from your family or friends
- Save on a removals van when you’re moving house by borrowing one yourself
- Finally take that rubbish to the tip by insuring yourself on a friend’s car

Whenever you need to get behind the wheel, we’ve got you covered. Once you’re insured, you can manage everything within the app. So, whether you need to extend your cover or want a reminder when your MOT is due, you can sort it all from your phone.

The best part is you don’t have to own a car to drive one. With Cuvva, it’s just as easy to get insured on someone else’s car as it is to insure your own. That’s why we’ve sold over 7m policies (and counting).

Cuvva is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Our FCA reference number is 690273. You can check our details on register.fca.org.uk.

Highly Recommended

Have used this company several times now. Very straightforward to use. Very reasonable prices especially for short term insurance anything upwards from 1 hour. Really handy to just use on a whim if you want to use another car or let someone use yours. Used yesterday to move a car a friend had bought. Cost me less than £10 for 3 hours fully comprehensive insurance. Really not worth taking the risk to drive without it at them prices as penalties for driving without insurance are high and make it much more difficult and expensive to get insurance.
Prices do vary by quite a large amount by taking into account where you are when starting the policy and time of day when driving. Eg The £9.66 premium that I paid for three hours would only buy one hour for driving at peak time. So unless essential much better value outside peak hours.
In summary very convenient at a very good price. Wouldn’t be without it.

At first i’ve tried to insure a 535 bmw , when i’ve put the reg it came up on their app as a 335 , which is a big difference between the 2 bmw models, when i’ve contact them on the chat i’ve been told there is nothing they can do as that’s what it is on the database, although the car is uk registered and already has 2 mots, the present mot being valid ,in a couple of months should have the 3rd one, on the gov site shows taxed, and on askmid insurance check shows up as insured , so can’t see where the problem is ??? Then i’ve tried on a porsche to get an instant message that because of my incident(s) history i cannot insure that vehicle , again contacted them on the chat and been told that in 2018 when i’ve done my account with them , i didn’t stated i had an incident, told them that indeed in 2016 i was involved in one but i was not at fault, the case was closed in my favour , 3rd party being at fault and not me, but still i’ve been told that there is nothing they can do ...although i’ve then realised that my account was done this year 2020 but nevermind it’s useless anyway... for the record i’ve acomplished 4 years of no claim bonus this year in spring and the incident i’ve been involved was in autumn 2016, so if i would had been at fault there was no way i could get 4 years ncb with at least 6 months before ... in my opinion they are good if you need to insure a 1.2 vw polo but nothing more as it will not be in their league ... too bad i guess ...

Hi! Sorry for the mix-up with the BMW 😞 Right now, we use a third party to gather vehicle data. Sadly, if the data we're provided with is wrong, we don't have a way to amend that right now which is possibly what happened in your case.

As for the incidents, it's hard for me to comment without knowing your specific situation (feel free to jump into chat again, and we'll do our best to explain it with you).

When someone signs up with us, we ask that they declare any incidents they've had in the past five years and we use the Claims and Underwriting Exchange to verify this. If they don't match this might cause an issue. If you jump into support with us again, one of the team can take a closer look and try to resolve this with you 😊

Been using Cuvva for a few months now my only issue is using my motorcycle effects my insight score which costs me more at renewal, speak on chat and only ever get told to turn off the permissions if I’m going to use my motorcycle, they say they can detect if your not in your car etc but that isn’t actually the case, you can be in a friends car and it effects your score, on the bus or a taxi etc, I’ve found the score drops rapidly but never climbs back up as quick yet it’s suppose to be an average.

I’ve driven a couple hundred mile round trip using cruise control on the motorways set at 65mph on sat nav and my score still didn’t rise above 82, doesn’t matter how slow around corners or even how slow pulled off from traffic lights/junctions it seems using my motorcycle on its OWN policy effects my car costs, last months renewal for a score of 81 was £182 I cancelled and did a quote 24 hours later with the same score of 81 and they quoted me £124 it seems even when an insurance company profess to being honest your still getting bent over dry

Hi there! Thanks so much for your review, it's great to hear you're enjoying using Cuvva and we appreciate your support 😊 after a while of using Smart Pricing, the app builds up a behaviour of your driving patterns and the passenger detection is highly accurate. It sounds like it is recording the motorcyle journeys too here, but if you'd like us to investigate further, please reach out to us at support@cuvva.com. All the best 🚗💜
