Dan Ruck Group Manager is brilliant

Having been a member approaching two years I am highly impressed by the exceptional quality of classes delivered within the club, which are organised by Dan who is an extremely pleasant natured, approachable and talented manager members engage with on a daily basis at the club. Dan is also a brilliant fitness instructor delivering a wide range of classes from Pialtes to Rhythm. Furthermore, club has highly talented Dance Teacher Adele B, Dyan Fleming who is equally gifted delivering Spirit, Pilates and range of professional workouts both on individual and group basis. Moreover, club poses talented Yoga and oxygen breathing instructor Scott Lowe and Yin Yoga Instructor Jenny Ward who are second to none. Tennis Department holds gifted leader and exceptional coaches such as James Handforth who engage full classes enjoyed by many every day. Bar facilities, pool and staff are friendly, welcoming and skilled with dedicated customer service skills. Management at the club are also brilliant due to their recruitment of such highly professional staff members mentioned above. If you want an exceptional work out experience with socialising look no further!

Update: much better. Dec 2022

Update: The contactless every card now works and speed is better. However, the food ordering and rewards management is dreadful. Last several orders haven’t added the drinks to my purchased total, so no reward earned. The food menu bears no resemblance to the physical menu, so ordering from it is a lottery.

Original review: A list of things that work reliably in the app - - A list of the things that don’t work - After selecting an option frequently shows a black grey screen with no way to exit. App reset needed - Apple wallet. No user putting the card in the wallet if it can’t be used as a contactless card at the entry barriers. Especially when doing so cancels the physical card. - Bookings often times out or give stranger error messages - Generally slow navigating between screens (on an iPhone Pro Max, so powerful device) - No idea what select a member on Timetable screen is supposed to do, but it doesn’t actually do anything. - On the other hand, the filter “16+ years” is apparently a “Don’t show anything” filter - 8 seconds to return from timetable page to main menu. - Navigation UI inconsistent. Sometimes a home icon, sometimes a back arrow and a cross. - Every now and then a “Oops that didn’t work” error message. The most recent for me when selecting the home screen icon - hardly a taxing request. Every screen or function has a defect - sometimes permanent, sometimes intermittent. It’s a shockingly poor application

Awesome App

This app has evolved over the years and is excellent. If you are a member of the gym. Its well worth joining. Its easy to book classes (although they are often full which is annoying esp in Jan). The membership card in apple wallet is great, as is the cafe ordering system.
It does alot. I have started using the at home work outs and whilst they are excellent. I find it difficult to find the work outs I want. I tend to like certain trainers and I can only find a video for each of them. Mandy is great as is the Ann-Marie. They should change this to get rid of the start a new plan as its confusing (I don’t get it) and clunky. Just have an at home section and list the type eg core or pilates and a pic of the instructor and title of the class. I think this would make the app perfect. As it is I am thinking of using another app for fitness for home workouts which is a shame as the DL instructors seem better and less annoying. If they fixed this it would add value and I would not mind not getting into a live class as much.
