Say hello to the Denon Hi-Fi Remote! This brand new app for iPhone and iPad will give you an unprecedented level of command and control over your network ready Denon new CEOL, CEOL piccolo, network audio player DNP-730AE and network stereo receiver DRA-100. Along with many new features, the graphics and user interface have been completely overhauled.
Control the basic functions of your Denon product with power, volume, input and settings.
With a new landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices you can easily browse and navigate through your network music services or personal digital music collection with ease; and at the same time view now playing information and cover art all on a single screen.
Our new playback system allows you to easily build your own personal music playlists on the fly with the ability to Drag & Drop files into your queue, or tap to “Play Now”, “Play Next”, “Play Next and Replace Queue” or “Add to End of Queue”. You can then save your queue as a playlist for easy recall.
With the new Denon Hi-Fi Remote, your iOS device just became an integral part of your home entertainment experience.

Ratings and Reviews
Half an app
This feels like a project that was abandoned before it was completed. It’s a really half-hearted effort.
What use is the ability to access a music server if you can’t search or even access alphabetically? To get down a list of artists require lots and lots of scrolling. Once you find what you want to play, successfully adding it to a playlist is hit or miss.
Trying to edit a playlist results in the app crashing.
Denon have shot themselves in the foot as this app cripples their otherwise fine hardware. Does anyone in the company actually use the software they make for their own products? From this effort you would assume not. This app hasn’t been updated for 7 months, and it still can’t do the basics. Fortunately there are plenty of other streaming apps that work perfectly fine, so you’re not tied to using this Denon app.
Rubbish
It seems no one cares at Denon. This app stopped working, doesn’t even start.
One of the main selling points for me, for the Ceol Piccolo R9, was the app integration and networking capabilities. All of it is rubbish, totally temperamental and unreliable. Internet radio is ok but sometimes doesn’t load (yes, my network is perfectly fine and working with everything else); Bluetooth is a pain and doesn’t pair, you need to wait for a good day; and the app is useless. Crashes every time.
It’s a shame because the hardware is amazing and the reason I didn’t threw the unit out the window it’s because of its sound quality. CD player is top notch, everything else, after 2 years I’m still waiting for a day to pick up the remote and the app and go through the features without crashing.
Shockingly AWFUL
I’ve never written an app review before. But this is so bad it has prompted me to do so. It is absolutely terrible. The worst app I have ever used. I expect so much more from Denon.
It’s slow as hell.
It rarely connects to the Hi-Fi unit. You often have to do a merry dance of opening the app, refreshing the device list, quitting the app, make a cup of tea. Cross your fingers. Repeat the process.
Please update this and fix these bugs.
