Clunky to control
The playability isn’t anywhere near as good as it was on the arcade, or on NES.
This app badly needs some instructions for what button does what, and what combos are possible.
It also needs to work with Bluetooth controllers (e.g. XBox / PS controllers) as tapping the screen isn’t responsive enough.
Faithfully brought to iOS
Played on an iPhone SE with no technical problems running the game at all. DotEmu have faithfully brought a classic arcade game and its first two sequels to iOS with evident care. I enjoyed the games very much but they did not hold much replay value for me upon completion. I imagine co-op mode could add even more enjoyment for some players but I have not had the opportunity to make the most of this feature. I've had no problem with using the touch screen controls and learning how to control Billy after a little trial and error was not difficult. My only problem was not being able to make use of the shop in the third game due to a slight technical issue that felt surprisingly overlooked. I recommend this to anyone looking for a retro arcade game (or three) to enjoy or those that are feeling nostalgic, you won't be disappointed.
Completely useless
Upgraded to a iPhone 12 Pro Max and the app doesn’t work properly the touch control is massive and you can’t move it to where you want on screen which makes playing this impossible please update so it works on latest iPhones please
