Feiyu ON 4+

I love my AK2000 and it works brilliantly with my GH5, however the app is a different ball game. The apps interface is pretty basic and frustrating to navigate as you have to watch the AK4000 advert on every load! Then once you connect to the gimbal the settings are basic.

I tried multiple times to connect to my GH5 but it just wouldn’t work. It connects to the GH5 and displays the ‘Open Image App’ message but it looks like the Feiyu app isn’t communicating something correctly. Also it makes you enter a password even though the GH5 default setting doesn’t require one.

In general it needs the following:
- Removal of AK4000 advert on load
- Remember last gimbal selected in menu
- Fix the camera WiFi sub menu
- Fix issue where password isn’t entered then no back options exist so you have to close the app
- Clean up the error messages
- In general clean up the UI, it’s a little amateurish

App worked on the 1st go (panning & tilting) but after that it struggled to find a connection & do anything. When trying again there was a flicker of motion response from the gimbal but then nothing.
Even when the app says it is connected it takes ages for the app to respond and doesn’t seem to send information to the gimbal.
Trying to do the time lapse directly on the G6 plus didn’t work properly either.
I pressed the mode button 4 times for the beep, set the 1st position & pressed mode again and moved to the end position & pressed mode again, all as described by feiyutech... the gimbal felt stiff as though it wasn’t supposed to be moved manually. I tried it a few times with differing results...most of the time it didn’t follow the points I’d set. I don’t know how it worked out those start positions!!??
Also because of the fighting nature from the gimbal it would spring back away from the end point as I’d try to set it so I had to hold it there against it’s will until I pushed the mode button to complete the process.

So, I can use this device as a basic gimbal but not any of the features including the time lapse that I had specific plans for.
Disappointing.

Connected no problem with g6, I set to smooth profile instead of normal or motion, adjusted joystick pan and tilt speed to my needs, that’s all I wanted really. I am used to big gimbals offering me a lot of parameters instead of ‘normal’, ‘smooth’, or ‘motion’, (no deadband) but for the g6 I wasn’t expecting all that. Smooth suits me fine and joystick speed is selectable on a scale like bigger gimbals (fiddly and could be better coded but ok and it saves reliably) Now connected to GoPro once via the GoPro app and I can use the record button, only setup with GoPro app then it works by itself, Nice!
