Named Best Mobile Game at the BAFTA Games Awards 2019 and Mobile Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2018!

Florence is an interactive storybook from the award-winning lead designer of Monument Valley about the heart-racing highs and heartbreaking lows of a young woman's very first love.

Florence Yeoh feels a little... stuck. Her life is an endless routine of work, sleep, and spending too much time on social media. Then one day, she meets a cello player named Krish who changes everything about how she sees the world and herself.

Experience every beat of Florence and Krish's relationship through a series of mini-game vignettes - from flirting to fighting, from helping each other grow... to growing apart. Drawing inspiration from 'slice of life' graphic novels and webcomics, Florence is an intimate and unforgettable story.

Strong recommendation

Whilst I erred over the purchase button, as you are now, my first thought was whether or not this ‘game’ (I leave ‘game’ in this format due to its lack of game like features, I would sooner label it an interactive story, perhaps a visual novel is a good example.) would last long enough to validate my purchase. It was not. However, its other features more than made up for this. Several moments in the experience I actually would call good game design. (for example the scene where as Florence finds talking to Krish easier, the puzzles involved with speech also become easier.) This is worth your three quid if you are interested in a short emotionally resonant story, enjoy any kind of animation, or have ten to fifteen minutes to spare.

I played this just after midnight as I got into bed, and put my earphones in just like the app recommends. I honestly felt like I was completely immersed in this story, it was beautiful! It hooked me in right away. The artwork, the music, the storytelling, literally everything worked so well together and made it so worthwhile. I related to Florence a lot, and found myself reacting to the situations to try and keep her happy. Or to try and make choices that I though would be the best for her in the long run. A couple of the interactions really took me a good bit to finish, I was thinking about them that much! It’s a rather short comic, only around 15-20 minutes in total it took for me, but there’s so much in there, and you get much more out of it! I highly recommend everyone should at least try this game. If interactive comics and the likes interest you, please play this. Thank you for this, It’s beautiful. 💕

Absolutely beautiful

Everything about this is worth it. The way the music, the story and the mechanics work together is absolutely beautiful. Never have I played a game where the mechanics had such an impact as this. I know everyone who worked on this will go on to do great things. The story is fantastic and inspiring and it makes me want to get up and write. Thank you for your amazing work!

Edit: I noticed some one star reviews so took a wee look at them. This game is short and all about telling the story so if you are a person who barrels through life without smelling the roses you will not enjoy this game. If you can stop and savour each chapter for a while you’ll find it wonderful.
