Ratings and Reviews
iPad video playback bugs for Mandarin
Love the learning style with this app but issues with playing the tutor videos between modules caused me to put it down for a while. Have come back to the new upgraded Mandarin hoping to see these gone but no such luck.
Many start playing for 10 seconds or so and skip to the end. Cannot play them at all. Deleting them and re-downloading them does nothing. I did test them on my iPhone and strangely they play fine. No issues with my iPad Pro 9.7. It has to be the app. All the modules run fine its just the videos.
Would give 5 Stars but can only give 3 as this is not fixed. I reported it 9 months or so ago.
Needs work
So, so far the following needs to be fixed. Beyond that it is a solid app.
1. iPhone X support. Black bars are never nice.
2. The bookmark does not seem to automatically progress.
3. Some text seems to be cut off in places. For example the pre conversation page where you choice subtitle level at the bottom it says the right order but it is cut off basically!
A great way to learn mandarin
This is the best language learning software out there and well worth the money to get you speaking mandarin!
But the app has bugs, the biggest issue is how slow the downloads take, even over fast wifi!
