The FNB Banking App embraces the future of help and our new look and feel will do just that
Some features to look out for:
Simple straight-forward navigation – We’ve added bottom navigation to make it easier to find what you need, when you need it.
Switch users easily – Multiple profiles? No problem! Switch seamlessly between different user profiles by selecting profiles located on the bottom navigation and then select “switch user”.
Introducing the Action Panel – Bringing your banking features front and center, like payments, transfers, my cards, and cash withdrawals.
Chat Pay – A revolutionary new feature called Chat Pay that allows you to pay any FNB customer via a simple chat, all within FNB’s secure ecosystem giving you peace of mind that the person you are paying has been verified and approved. It’s that simple.
What is Pay?
We have renamed Payments to Pay. This feature will provide you with access to categories within payments such as pay, receive, pay bills, payment settings, and payment history.
What is Secure Messaging?
Chat to other FNB/RMB customers securely on the App by granting access to your contact list. Features within Secure Messaging include Chat Pay, voice notes, attachments, share location, etc.

A thing of beauty
The FNB is not only beautiful, stylish and easy on the eye, it is also intelligently functional. I do not need to figure my way through the steps - the process of doing tasks and finding information and navigating around the app is intuitive. Well done to the developers, designers and other back office staff.
New bug in FNB app
Over the last 10 days, the app is shutting down or returning to the login screen within 60 seconds of being opened. This means that I’m frequently in the middle of a transaction and suddenly the app closes, meaning I have to go all the way back to the start. I tried to highlight this to some customer support operatives in the online chat today (which was also interrupted by this bug) but they didn’t seem to understand. If you are reading this, please look into this bug. I’m using an iPhone with the latest iOS. It’s really very irritating to have the app close down on me all the time, rendering it almost useless
Bad user experience. It goes backwards with every update
Is anyone even testing all your features before a new release? I cant even accept a foreign payment. Takes me through all the steps then stuck at the last bit. I accept t&c but it keeps taking me back to previous screens. Every time you update your app, there are more clicks to get to where I want to be.
Your secure chat also has a horrible customer experience with constant system notifications in it, missing messages, very buggy, and frequent disconnections!
