Forest - eBike Sharing 4+

Price wise is great for 15-20 min journeys sometimes beating underground fares in London, bikes themselves are not the best out there but they are good.
They need to improve the app though. Like many other bike services, you have to park at specific spots however the app layout makes it difficult to quickly know where is the nearest parking place from your destination before you start your journey as it lacks a search for address feature. Secondly it displays all the forest bikes nearby making it impossible to even see the map sometimes (perhaps there is a way but I haven’t been able to turn this off)
Lastly, since you have to use other app such as google maps to know where you are going, once you arrive at your destination and go back to the forest app, the app forgets you were renting a bike so you have to wait until your ride shows up or have to close the app and open it and hope you can finish your ride. Since you pay per minute it doesn’t feel great 😂 specially when you are also running late

Again in terms of bikes and service, great. But the app needs a few improvements

Great service and price vyt definitely room for improvement. They’re beating the competition on price and vibes for me but the app is terrible and clunky to use. Can’t see which direction you’re facing and it doesn’t integrate with other maps so you have to switch back and forth to figure out where the nearest parking bay is.

I’d say they could invest in more bikes as well -loads of times I’ve needed one but there have been none around.

Otherwise best way to get around in London, cheaper, faster and cleaner than cars and buses. Even prefer it over the tube these days.

update from worse to dam awful. went out on an F bike, 1st bike faulty (crank - poor maintenance) so swap for another bike that had a faulty motor, swap for another bike, work brilliantly until need to brake, no brakes. next bike had a faulty crank again. tried parking next to 4 other f bikes just 20m away and the app wouldn’t let me park. JUST GO LIME. Forest only cover 80% of London. but both Lime and santander covers the whole of London. Which makes them the best e-bike services for the whole of London. It would of been nice if Forest advertised themselves as only partially covering London, but I guess that defeats the point of Labelling yourself as a London service. But, as a customer it really annoying because you go to park and find out you can’t park. When I say you can’t park somewhere, I don’t mean 10 metres or even 100 metres, I mean a mile or more? Which then defeats the object of using an ebike. Also being colour blind doesn’t help as forest colour scheme for its maps uses vague greys and green. And when it sayes you can’t park it parts of London. it doesn’t say where you can park, just you can’t park somewhere. Chat bot says something similar and call centre closes after 6pm. so a partial time and partial area coverage. I think we should call the Forest Bike the Sunak Bike as both have got a similar coverage across London.
