Good in parts, but poor data export.

Some parts of this app are pretty good - my sensors and smart trainer connected fine, and the trainer settings are excellent for tweaking almost any trainer to a realistic power and road speed to match your outdoor data. The videos are not bad either, though not as good as the best (Tacx), but the synchronisation with power is poor at times, with the film continuing on its own for no reason at all before starting or after stopping. Worse thing is that the fit file export is very poor - not only is it only by email (anyone heard of Open-In on iOS??) but the fit file itself has errors which have to be corrected with the FitFileRepairTool to make it fully up to date and compatible with other software. A bit disappointing really.

Always have Fulgaz in the locker

For me Fulgaz is so much different from most of the indoor training apps… I think this really is an alternative to a proper outdoor bike ride… ANYWHERE in the world !! On a smart trainer with Fulgaz u can ride very realistically on some of the best routes and climbs in the world. Socially, Fulgaz organise and host very many Zoom connected events and this additionally give you access to some wonderful guests. For me t’s not the App to use for structured training to improve your fitness indicators like FTP and VO2 etc - I use other Apps for that but Fulgaz gets top marks from me when I just wanna ride my bike when other stuff stops me going outside or I fancy tackling an iconic climb. The team at Fulgaz are great and there is also a nice community of users who connect on the various Zoom driven challenges and on the Facebook pages. Fulgaz was the first App I tried… I then left it for about 2 years as I tried most of the other Apps but I came back to Fulgaz in the midst of COVID lockdown and it’s been in the locker ever since… I’ll prolly always have it now 👍🏻

Real environments, great service

I trialled Fulgaz, Rouvy and Zwift. I chose Fulgaz. I love the variety of landscapes. I think it does this better than Rouvy and I found that the reactive mode was more realistic (though not perfect). It also has training elements. I like that this wasn’t pushed evangelistically but it was available for when i wanted it - which I eventually did. Zwift was a bit American/“you go, buddy!” and didn’t offer the landscapes. I also had queries about how to use the app and was amazed that they only responded helpfully but were prepared to engage. With Fulgaz, they also had a proper trial period. With Zwift, i got about halfway through the second ride and that was it. In the end, Fulgaz was the better option and I still really like it. Next step for Fulgaz is for the download not to break when you briefly lose internet connection or if the device goes to sleep - but it’s usually ok.
