Description
The geo Home app combines the monitoring and control of home energy and smart heating systems. Designed to be compatible with geo’s Smart Heating and Smart Energy product ranges, the app provides you with a single point of access with a simple, straightforward interface.
Please note: The geo Home app requires at least one of the following products to monitor and control your heating and energy systems:
- Smart thermostat from geo
- Trio in-home display (with WiFi) connected to a smart meter
- Trio+ Heating in-home display (with WiFi) connected to a smart meter
- Hub + LED Sensor connected to a meter with LED pulse output
Please note: The geo Home app is not compatible with the Trio P1 in-home display that is on sale in the Netherlands.

The app allows a home's hot water to be controlled alongside its heating. Schedules can be created in the app to control when the hot water heating is turned on.

The geo Home app allows you to take control of other devices in the home, such as Electric Vehicle chargers. Schedules can be created in the app to control when the device is turned on.

Big potential
This app has such a huge potential but at the moment it is sadly unexpressed. It is great to be able to see real time consumption and to access historic data, however the tariff does not seem to be correct (it is a constant 11.7 p/kWh but my actual tariff changes every 30 mins -octopus agile-) and the app doesn’t reflect that). The Home Screen space is very inefficiently used: it just shows the current consumption and then there is a huge empty space filled with a picture that could instead show the historic data currently accessible by pressing a button. The app often disconnects and requires login and password almost every time is launched: it should just connect automatically or require faceid like banking apps. It would be nice to be able to have iOS widgets with a gauge for the current consumption in the iOS Home Screen. These are just some of the possible improvements and some of them require little to no programming effort to be implemented.

Could be so much better
I’m using the app to monitor my smart meter. Although it looks pretty it could be so much more informative. 1. I can’t see actual kWh consumed by the hour, only a graphical representation. 2. I’d like to be able to download/export that data (half- hourly) for analysis. 3. The current meter reading is hidden away under the More button - please make it obvious. 4. Under Daily Budget, my app says “Predicted over budget” even if I haven’t used any energy. I think it’s not taking account of the daily standing charge in arriving at that conclusion. 5. My smart meter is also recording PV energy exported, but that doesn’t appear on my Trio device or the app.

So much potential, with a few changes it would be awesome
Octopus installed a smart meter, (woohoo), I then discover it has a Wi-Fi section in the settings, connect it to my Wi-Fi (on the IOT network just in case), and install this app.
OK so it’s functional, but if you are the developer here’s some changes that would make it brilliant, (even if it means paying for a “pro version, one off payment, none of your monthly subscription nonsense).
1. An iPad version would be nice. I dont own an iPhone anymore, so using it on my iPad Pro is clunky to say the least.
2. Actual figures option rather than just a graph, so I can see when we are consuming and how much for every hour, which brings me nicely to:
3. Some kind of csv output for those of us who use spreadsheets. Go on, you know and I know its possible.
4. How about showing us our export figures totals too, its currently on the IHD buried away in the meters section, for those of us with solar/wind this would be awesome.
5. I don’t have a gas meter, so give me a way to only show electric please. Apart from that, this is a very useful app and with the changes suggested above it could be absolutely brilliant. I have already recommended it in a Facebook Octopus group.
