The Hik-connect app is designed to work with Hikvision series DVRs, NVRs and IP cameras which support Cloud P2P function. It allows you to live view your cameras remotely. All you need to do is creating an account and adding device into the account, then you can enjoy the real-time video from cameras on a global scale. It also allows you to play back recorded video to search every milestone of your life. When motion detection alarm of your device triggered, you can get an instant message notification from Hik-connect app.

Before we start...Here’s THE most important thing! Make sure your DVR/NVR settings are set properly; ensure the sub-stream for each camera isn’t pushing out full HD quality, as your playback and live feed will be slow to work on 3G/4G or WiFi away from home. If you’re unsure how to effectively set up the sub-stream properly for mobile playback and live feed, do you research, or ultimately ask a professional.
Great app for notifications based on ‘line crossing’, ‘motion detection’, or ‘intruder alert’ functions set up on the main system. Each camera on your system can be viewed on-screen at once, or individually; the default setting is low-resolution video both in live view and playback, but this can easily be changed to HD with the touch of the screen. You are easily able to capture a photo or video of live feed or playback files, and easily share these from your phone as you would do with any other video or photo.
Advanced playback features, such as smart search, aren’t available via the app, but this is purely because of the limitations of the mobile network/WiFi away from home, and the ability to shift a massive amount of data in/out within a suitable timeframe.
An absolutely great app, providing you have your stream, and sub-streams set up correctly.
We had two cameras to fitted to each side of our house recently. This has brought us peace of mind when we are asleep and some degree of assurance regarding security of our property when we are further away from home.
The clarity of the images day and night are beyond our expectations!.. the quality of the Audio is also very sharp.
We really like the ability to remotely check up on the property at any time of day or night..and the ability to review footage if we wish to check something.
The Engineer who installed these cameras was also excellent. Giving us a thorough over view of whet we could expect once he had installed each device.. and then spent a good deal of time connecting them up to our phones... and gave us a practical workshop how to use the system. He was very methodical and thorough. We can Highly recommend him for the work he carried out for us... and his choice of product.
It was a very good price and a Very good decision to go ahead and have them installed.... we’ve had them for about 6 weeks now... and feel confident to recommend this brand of product. We have no regrets, and feel it’s been a very fair price for a very high spec. We both agree that we wish we had them

The App just isn’t fit for purpose. It’s cost me thousands of £ having the 4K cameras installed and I am extremely impressed with the hardware. It’s this app which lets it down and is so infuriating.
I get notifications daily but can never playback the videos. I only ever get the message - video unstable. It’s clear that when trying to playback, the app tries to load the whole day starting from 12am, when you just want to view the small clip of the time of the notification. The reason we think this is the case is because you can view playback at midnight and shortly after, but from 8am onwards you cannot playback any video from any notifications you get! Isn’t that the whole point of having a state of the art CCTV system, so you can monitor what’s going on and view the playback!?
Interestingly they have a feedback function which I have mentioned these issues directly to hik-connect but this is obviously completely ignored. There is even a forum about this very issue for others online. Hopefully this will get fixed soon but from experience don’t hold your breath!
