Hozelock 4+

Purchased last year and had some difficulties with stability and setting up. Finally got it to work through last summer. Stored controller indoors over winter and tried to resume this year for greenhouse watering. Simply changed batteries in controller, but repeated attempts to get working again have failed. Hozelock video instructions followed to the letter and also conducted factory reset several times, but failed on every attempt, whilst conducting ‘test connection’ with hub and controller right next to each other! Hozelock App will not allow me to continue use until I pass this final stage of setup. Final analysis is that this product is very temperamental and I’m left questioning why I spent over £100 on something that doesn’t do what is claimed. I certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Great product but app needs some work - got a new iPhone, downloaded everything from iCloud but the settings had all disappeared. Had 3 controllers set up so pretty annoying!

Additionally - once you get into issues syncing the hub and controllers it can take hours to sort out. The app can’t be wiped because you can’t get off the sync screen. The him and controllers display all the lights you don’t want them to. Remains incredibly temperamental - ha e up after hrs of trying this evening.

Really wish improvements were made

It all sounds so simple, but it isn’t. That’s principally because the instructions don’t tell you how long some of the procedures take on the hardware. You have to hold the buttons far longer than you expect. It feels as thought the technology in the hardware needs a major revamp - the chips must have come out of the 1990s it can take so long. Even having owned this for 3 years I have major problems every year. It’s a really issue when batteries go flat in the units - I have to re-set them every time. Would advise not buying this system until Hozelock really invest in it.
