Great app - almost there
The Hull Daily Mail app is such a breath of fresh air after years of trying to use the website with its deluge of adverts that made the stories impossible to read.
Fingers crossed that the app doesn't go the same way and spoil things!!!
I really like the way you can choose which sections to include so that you can tailor the news to your interests. The traffic bulletins are handy as well.
Not quite 5 stars, but if you added a search facility that would do it. I was trying to find a previous story the other day to show someone and couldn't. I had to resort to searching the awful HDM website instead.
Please fix the videos though - most of them have absolutely nothing to do with the current story when you play them.
So much better than the website
After doggedly using the website for several years - mainly for Hull City news - I switched to the app and was very pleasantly surprised. It has the occasional small hiccup, presumably teething troubles, but it is so much smoother and faster to load pages than the website. And (whisper it) there are almost no ads... The main reason the website was almost impossible to use was the sheer volume of ads, often videos, that hog-tied it completely. The app hasn’t gone that way (yet) - long may that continue! It is also very easy to select only the stories you want to see, which helps streamline the experience further.
There’s a but
This app is really useful I even got some my people to download it it’s really good but yes BUT the last couple of days have been all about this coronavirus all the notifications have been about it all of them and it’s starting to do my head right in how it’s been so dominant over everything is there nothing else going on in our city.
