Fantastic game
Just finished the full game. I was a bit reluctant to cash out almost a tenner for the full version, but it’s well worth it. Fantastic gameplay, good controls - but most importantly: it’s not a frustrating experience fighting the bosses! Play - die - play - learn the bosses moves - win.
Well done devs, really good game.
One thing I missed though was the rogue element. Every game is exactly the same as the previous one. No character advancement, no upgrades, no RPG elements. It would be awesome to be able to get some upgrades after finishing the game and starting the next one with new weapons, special moves, …etc.
Retro Fun
I recommend this game. I think it’s a little pricey at £8. I think £5 would have been about right. That said, I’ve had hours of amusement out of this game. I will definitely have hours more.
This game captures the feel of retro gaming perfectly. This game has the most important thing that most games today sadly lack. Good ol’ fashioned fun!
If you liked streets of rage, golden axe, E-swat etc you will absolutely love this.
Slick Cyberpunk Shooter.
This is a delicious mash up of 16 bit and Cyberpunk style, 80’s & 90’s movies, and gameplay from classics like Rolling Thunder and Metal Slug.
This is an improvement on the source material as It has more content than a real Megadrive cart. There are tons of graphic and sonic flourishes and it also plays much more forgivingly. Which is no bad thing - as it remains challenging, but still fun. Controls are tight and the script, sound and atmos are top notch. Multiple characters give it replay value too. Worth a blast.
