- Default Translator (iOS 18.4+) — set Mate as your system translator and the iOS Translate action everywhere uses Mate. 250+ languages instead of Apple's 20, plus synonyms, definitions, phonetic transcription, reverse-translate, and noun genders, all inside the system popover.
- Safari Extension — translate entire web pages or selected text without leaving the browser.

The app is great, the only problem I seem to have is with Latin. I’m not writing this review to judge the accuracy of Latin, when it works it seems to be better than other translation apps that feature Latin such as Google Translate. However, when I’m translating to Latin, the app suddenly decides it’s not connected to the internet even though it is. I’d go to translate and it would come up with an error saying Network Error The internet connection appears to be offline. - I try to disconnect and reconnect my phone from my Wi-Fi, but that doesn’t help, even shutting down my phone and powering it up again, doesn’t work. If it wasn’t for this connection issue, the app would be great. Thanks for the help!

I’ve never had to write a review in hopes the developer will respond to a problem. Until last week app has been great, had it for years never an issue. The problem, I use it daily, I go into the app and I’ve been logged out. Nothing new, this sometimes happens after an update. I go to log in and I get an error message ‘couldn’t save security token’. Weird. I try my phone, my desktop version, all saying the same error. I uninstall, and reinstall, no luck. I check for caches etc, none to do no issues there. My internet is fine. What is going on? I paid for the app, that now no longer works. Unable to log in at all. I sent support an email and have been ignored. Hoping to hear back here. Just crazy there no way to explain if it’s their server that is having issues, fine but no explanation, no help! Please developer help fix this, I need it, as I use daily.

This is exactly what I needed. I’ve been using iTranslate for several years, but have grown tired of the bugs, and the lack of attention from the developers to fixing those bugs and improving the app to make it more user-friendly. So it was a great pleasure to find that the folks at Mate are in fact offering just the translation software that I needed, without the subscription fees and constant disappointments. Highly recommended!

I bought this on the recommendation of my language teacher. I use it on an iPad. Once installed, just highlight the text as you would if you were going to copy and click share. It then opens up the mate translate box which contains the translation and allows you to hear it spoken. Much less hassle than going to google translate.
