How it works
- Hear My Baby uses your iPhone’s microphone to listen for abdominal sounds; it is not a doppler and doesn’t emit ultrasound. It’s a lifestyle keepsake for bonding and sharing, not a medical device and not for diagnosis.
- Our advanced audio engine isolates and amplifies fetal heartbeat sounds so you can listen and save the recording, and trim it to the appropriate moment for sharing quickly and easily.
- Best from around 16+ weeks; clearest for many families at ~27 weeks. Results vary with baby’s position and placenta location.
Tips for best results
- Be still, breathe lightly, and try several positions around your bump
- Press the mic firmly against the skin; explore low and to the sides
- Bluetooth/over-ear headphones can make subtle sounds easier to hear
Important
Hear My Baby is not a medical device and doesn’t replace prenatal care. If you’re concerned about anything in your pregnancy, please consult your clinician. Seek a doctor’s advice if you have any concerns. You can switch to Airplane Mode while using the app.

I was not expecting to find a heartbeat this soon as most people using the app are in their final trimester but I am 18 weeks pregnant. You must follow the instructions shown and have the ability to be very patient and still. It took me a lot of tries over two separate days as the baby wasn't in the right position at first but then i finally found it! I did not give it 5 stars as the noise can be a bit screechy and fuzzy still even with the volume down, but i still heard a clear rapid heartbeat which is the important part! The app is also easy to use, i’m happy and excited x
5/5 I would recommend!

Brought this app when I was around 14 weeks pregnant. I had a subchronic hematoma and I wanted to keep an eye on baby in anyway possible. It does suggest that the bigger the baby the stronger the heartbeat. I think it also depends on whereabouts your placenta is. I get no noise from that area. Didn’t hear much from 18 weeks to 26 weeks. Sometimes it would pick up, other times it wouldn’t. But 30 weeks onwards I’ve had clear heartbeats the entire time. Even if I don’t get a heartbeat the baby moves when I use it. So I get reassurance then.Follow the instructions clearly and have patience. Granted your placenta is in the right place and so is your baby, you’ll hear it! I love using this app around the partner as he couldn’t attend any midwife appointments to hear it himself. I’m 37 weeks now and I don’t regret buying this at all. I will keep it on my phone until I have the next baby ( hopefully not TOO soon after this one) as it definitely gave me comfort. That being said... it is not a replacement for midwife appointments and if you feel something is wrong please call your midwife instead of using this app. This app is more for fun and memories then medical help.

We ve used this app for a couple of years. It works and has had regular improvements made to it. If you contact the developers through their support they are really good and help you with advice about how to find your baby’s sounds. It isn’t always easy since the baby moves around and you have to wait until the baby is in the right position and that takes some patience and can be frustrating. It acts like a stethoscope and doesn’t ping your baby which is brilliant and for this reason the baby heartbeat can be harder to find. We recently tried it on a friend who was 22w and the first two times had no luck. 3rd time we got it! It s a great app but you need to know what you re looking for otherwise you won’t hear it. For the price it is definitely worth it.
£5 VERY WELL SPENT 💓👂🏽

31 weeks pregnant and I have an anterior placenta which makes finding my baby’s heartbeat a little more taxing at my midwife appointments. I took a risk purchasing this app I case it wouldn’t work because of this and especially at the price it was. There were also many reviews saying it doesn’t work etc - but sadly not all humans are competent beings and I tried to bare this in mind. I based my choice of purchase with the amount of responses from the developers attempting to help their customers, this gave me a level of comfort. There were also all the positive reviews to go with too.Downloaded, opened the app and followed the instructions.Find a quiet room and get comfy - checkTake off phone case - checkSwitch on airplane mode - checkTurn volume down to 30% - checkTest to hear my own heart beat - successfulPlace microphone under naval line at a 90 degree angle - checkSearch and be patient - checkAnd there it was!! That little rapid flickering sound of my baby boy’s strong heart pumping away. I am a happy Mama. 😇Thank you 🙏🏽 - a fiver well spent x
