Three days ago I was looking for an app that would allow me to convert handwriting into text on my iPad Pro, using the Apple pencil. The search led to Notes Plus. But while there, I saw MyScript. It was free and had some rave reviews from people with bad handwriting. I installed it and immediately found that a £1.99 add-on was required to make it work. I followed the link to get this, only to be told that this was only available in the US. Outraged, I posted a scathing review, giving it one * - and would have given it less if I could have. I paid my £9.99 for Notes Plus. I soon found that, good as it was for many things, it was completely unable to decipher my handwriting. I can't blame it - only three people on the planet have been able to read what I write, and, sadly, two of them have passed on. I gave up the search. The next day - I'm nothing if not determined - I started again. This time the search led to Nebo MyScript. When tried to install it I found that it was already there. Overnight it had morphed. This time without the €1.99 add-on. I have now spent some time going through the tutorials and can announce that I'm In Love. Finally, and at last, I have found the Holy Grail! This whole review has been written with this more-than-5 * miracle. I am beyond grateful, not to mention filled with wonder. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The digital world continues to amaze me.
Promising...but not quite there - yet!

The app does what it describes very well - my handwriting is not the clearest and it gets recognised with only a small amount of errors which can be easily fixed when reviewing text. The developers have done a fantastic job implementing the handwriting recognition feature.When I downloaded the app my initial thoughts were that this could be the app that has finally nailed the digital notepad (I prefer typed text as I have messy handwriting, but handwriting out notes does work better in terms of my retaining information)! Unfortunately, through using the app that doesn’t YET seem to be the case. I didn’t like that writing/text is completely separate from photos/drawings/diagrams and that annotations couldn’t be made between different objects (the features work well within their designated boxes, but not when making annotations out with the boxes). I’m not sure of the technicalities behind making this cross object interaction happen here but if it was possible to draw “anywhere” on a page and link drawings to text then this would definitely make the user experience better and would be another step towards the perfect digital notepad. Other features I’d like to see in future include page templates/styles (different rules/squares etc...) and the ability to type text in addition to using the Apple Pencil. That being said, this is a solid app with good foundations to become even better in the future. I can’t wait to see how the app matures!
Can’t open since new update

I love this app, it’s fantastic and the developers deserve a lot of praise, but since the new update I have not been able to open the app. I have tried looking on their website but I can’t find any way to contact the developers or anyone else who might be able to help. Does anyone know how to solve this? As a more general review, the app is brilliant. It is very rare for the system to misunderstand what you are writing once it gets used to your handwriting (unless it is a name or made up word, though it soon learns them) and adding images is quick and easy, as is moving text and separating paragraphs.The only negative points would be that it does not allow you to paste paragraphs from one language to another (a problem in my case because I accidentally made my initial notebook in America-English rather than UK-English) and copying in general is awkward at points, as is the maths feature. However, these are very minor points for the app as a whole. I would definitely recommend this app to writers everywhere.
