This is the app which you can use to interface with your ShotScope v1 or v2 watch and tags. Both devices especially the v2 are real game changers in the golf world and this app makes the experience that much richer.The principle uses of the app are as a means to download courses for upload to the watch and for the upload to your phone of all the shot data on your watch post-round. The watch syncs with your watch to do both of these via Bluetooth.The important part to note for both of these is you sync before and after and can play with your phone off which is a key feature of ShotScope compared to some rivals.The golf course loading is a simple procedure but the best part of the app is the mapping of your round and the increasingly rich set of visualisations of your play as you load more rounds.Too many details to cover here but suffice to say there’s no hiding from the honesty of the data you get and that’s a good thing. For without the facts of the number of 3 putts you hit or fairways missed left then you’ll not know what to work on.This app and its companion desktop/laptop app (does mostly the same as the mobile app but slightly richer experience) are both mightily impressive tools for the improvement orientated golfer. Even if you just want to see how far you spanked that drive on the downhill 17th with the wind behind you there are thrills to be had too.Would recommend but at time of writing v2.0.1 seems a little unstable on my iPhone6 but I’m assured an update is on the way. Good job ShotScope!

The app has two main flaws:1. The user interface is really poorly designed with a weird mix of slides and buttons that are very unintuitive. It shows one massive chart per page which means you’re endlessly having to scroll or click your way around. Example: This is what you need to see strokes gained for approaches - go to performance, click what looks like a filter button (next to another filter button), click approaches, you’re presented with a huge greens accuracy visual, and a slider left to right, but dont be fooled there is a barely visible pullup tab, swipe that up, then click the strokes gained button. I’ve done escape rooms that are easier to figure out!2. One thing users want to know is what they should work on, this requires the user to do a lot of digging into the stats (which is painful, see point above), why not present the user with analysis which shows where they are dropping the most shots, and not just broad areas like but specific, like short game 0-25 yards, maybe allow the user to track a fee specific ones they’re going to work on and track progress.

Constant improvement in functionality but could still be better. The app cannot handle stableford scoring. The additional club tags has been reduced for the current generation product to just X1 and X2. Many golfers manage their bag club selection based on the course they are playing. This means that on occasions the bag may contain more wedges for shorter courses or additional longer and hybrid clubs for longer courses. Having to swap club tags for such club changes is a bind and it messes up actual club data. I personally would like to see the X3 and X4 tags being made available again with possibly a couple of additions. The app gets better with each update and provides a lot of review information to help analyse your individual club data and overall ability.

I’ve had the shot scope V3 since Jan 24, and I have been generally quite pleased with this product! I mainly use the gps + track, and I’ve been pleased with how I’ve been able to cut 3 shots off my handicap from 12 to 9 purely by reducing the number of shots left short on approach to green! I have recently bought a replacement set of tags as a number of the originals had worn down! I have re organised my bag and use tubes for the clubs with foam at their base to stop the wearing of the tags on the bottom of the bag! These new tags appear to be much better at picking up which club is being used and doesn’t appear to miss any shots after two rounds of using them! Great product for the price!
