Ok, now from the off I have to be honest; this games was far from receiving the five stars, which I’ve finally awarded. A few years back I played a similar game in which the character was running through a forest at night. However, although addictive, the game became quite tedious as your only enemy was time. As you can imagine I soon dropped it and moved onto something else. Then I came across this little beauty. Now upon first glance I assumed this game tone identical to the previous game I had spent so much time on. But then I began to play, and I’m so pleased I did. The differences are huge. To begin with this game has a storyline. The lead protagonist ; a truck driver, is trying to get home to his daughter and sister, when he becomes caught up in the zombie apocalypse. Graphics and sound are implemented beautifully. With a host of additional tasks and raids to gain better weapons, money and energy, you must get to the homestead. My only gripe, and I know the developers have set the controls out this way for a reason, is that you direction is pretty much set. It certainly isn’t an open world game. However, you could look at this from the protagonists point of view; you would want to use the quickest and most direct route possible to get to where you were going. You certainly wouldn’t want to be roaming around if this was real life. On the whole this game is a fantastic addition to any zombie fans mobile gaming arsenal.

This game does have potential to be five stars. There’s variety, there’s fun, and it’s a pretty good way to pass the time. Unfortunately this game has two major flaws:Price: The game wants you to pay monthly for premium. Which is understandable, they need to make money. Except on top of that it asks you to spend between £8-11+ on various guns, as in they’ll ask you to spend £11 on one gun that’s not even maxed out. And you’ll get these adverts a lot. You’ll be asked to pay for other product drops too which are also ridiculously priced. The price of things on top of premium is ridiculous. This is a mobile phone game, it does not warrant £11 on one gun. Some people in the reviews have even said they have paid for premium items and lost them due to glitches, and were unable to recover them. This is just ridiculous. Glitches: The map doesn’t always load in correctly, this sometimes causes you to be trapped ruining that round as you’ll be unable to progress. Sometimes zombies will teleport on top of you, again ruining that round as it’ll end the game unless you pay real money for a knife (or happen to have one). It doesn’t seem fair to have a zombie fall from the sky and defeat you because you can’t do anything then. The ammo box will sometimes load in at a place that’s impossible to access meaning you’ll be stuck without ammo for even longer while you try and get to an ammo box that is accessible. They don’t seem to be doing anything to address these issues which is unfortunate because in the case of events and so on, it can really ruin the experience by shutting you out due to you losing to a glitch.

I love this game. The graphics and storyline are just so cool. The game is a simple premise, run and keep running, getting ever closer to your separated daughter and sister. The hook, you eventually manage to get armed up to the teeth. It’s not a mindless shooter, unless you relax shooting off assault rifles, sniper rifles, a selection of pistols, a flamethrower 😅. The story is great and rescuing an our daughter while travelling over miles and miles of zombie infested cornfields, small towns, sewer tunnels, oil fields, feels like a climatic story. I come back every day for the challenges and special side stories they set - and of course newer and more awesome weapons 😃 Great game I play everyday.

Like many reviewers have already said, you need to pay, a lot, to win. Developers response is that you can win without paying, yeah if you want to run through each level without any ammo.You don’t get enough ammo to play a level even if you hit an ammo crate mid-level. Not enough supplies to have your dog with you. To buy one ticket costs 50 gold, I had only 164 gold. You start with 5 blue tickets for an event, you do the maths for how long they would last if you want to retry more often. Same for any power ups, upgrades, parts everything needs coins or gold which, like your ammo, you don’t have enough of.Everything has been deliberately pared back so that you cannot simply play a level with some ease. It’s all been setup to get you to pay. And let’s not forget the adverts on top of that.So many games out there allow you to play without paying to upgrade, this could easily be one of them.
