I have played this app for over a year and enjoy the different version of the crosswords. However for the last week or so the games freeze when you complete a game and you run through an add. The add plays through and when you finally get to the end the exit ‘x’ becomes inactive. You just cannot get out of the add, frozen on the screen and you don’t get a reward either. The only way I can get back to the app is restart my iPad. Also adverts that used to be 30 seconds long are now passed the 1 minute stage and even those sometimes go beyond that time. It puts me off playing. With that and the restarting every few games I will most likely delete the app, which would be a shame. I have deleted the app and reloaded but to no avail. What has happened

I’m not usually a crossword fan - although I would like to able to do cryptic clues - but I really like this app. The clues are often repetitive, and they’re very Americano-centric but I can muddle through. I like that there are some more obscure clues and I’d like to see more variety … the only repeated British clues seem to be “toilets in London” and “boy/girl in Scotland” which given our variety of culture over here is a bit lacking. I get it’s an American app but come on!! Lol … plus there are other countries! (There are a few river/city clues from elsewhere) It’s good tho. Good small daily puzzles and a good few packs, watching adds to get coins which give you “reveals” on difficult clues to allow you to finish, and you get a few free letters in a game. I have noticed that you may have put in a correct answer and the game will change a letter so when you complete you’ve got to find the “new” error, which can be confusing, but I enjoy. Packs could be more world knowledge, nature, animals but most are American tv shows and sports/ music. Overall I recommend this app. I’m learning US baseball/basketball players, universities and federal acronyms for government departments!! US “well known” products are still tricky. Seems the only biscuit (cookie) in America is an Oreo!! What about custard creams? Bourbons? Viennese whirls? Jammie dodgers!? A good ol’ hobnob Lol!!

I enjoy the game for what it is! The crosswords are fun, I like the themes. But when you’re playing as someone who didn’t grow up in America, some things (particularly the sports questions) can be difficult to answer. Usually I can mange to get corresponding clues going the opposite way and guess any remaining. I would like to see more variation in clues though. The same few seem to be used in every other puzzle and it’s seemingly rarely to get a clue that’s unrelated to the puzzle theme that you haven’t come across at least a few times before. Mostly I just wish more coins were available to earn without having to go through micro transactions. I coin per level seems a bit ridiculous. It should be at least 5-10 per level and rewards for events should be a lot higher in coins too. Sometimes I just end up using Google if I’m massively struggling (which is rare due to how often clues are repeated) because the pay off for completing puzzles is so low it’s not worth wasting coins when there’s 1 error.

Absolutely love the app WHEN IT WORKS! I usually play everyday to complete the daily challenges but EVERYTIME iOS updates the whole game crashes and freezes. Usually goes on for a few days after the update and the game was still playable to a degree - as long as you keep shutting things down and restarting them. Did manage to message developers and had a single response to say they were looking into this latest issue but this is much worse as the app will not load at all, just flashes the logo then goes black screen. Not worked properly since iOS 17 update on Saturday 14th - now on Wednesday 18th no further communication from support despite me responding to their message promptly nor a working app. So went wobbly as usual when the system updated but whatever they are trying to do to fix the problem appears to have made it worse. Expected much better from a game I’ve been using regularly for ages.
