The modules for Chess King are relatively inexpensive compared to a book or video course. I think the big advantage is that Chess King is interactive and can give feedback on wrong or inaccurate moves, guiding you to the correct answer. I considered myself a reasonable chess player(but still with a huge amount to learn). I was surprised that I was having trouble seeing even some of the basic tactics. The big benefit of this app, apart from the ones above, is that you can go over the tactics as part of a training schedule. I was alerted to this app by the book Rapid Chess Improvement by Michael de la Maza, which recommends using CT-Art as the foundation for repetitive training on tactics to see a rapid improved in your game, more so than studying any other area of chess. Very pleased with the app and CT-Art.

Excellent chess course. A mixture of didactic theory in combination with loads of stimulating practice lessons. Very enjoyable. You also get rated which encourages you to progress. You must know a bit of chess (rules etc.) because it does not teaches you chess from a complete novice’s prospective but does start from quite a basic level. Not boring at all but enjoyable because you are given puzzles to solve.

My pattern recognition improved quickly thanks to the repetitive puzzles. More efficient and content heavy than other chess practice softwares. Thumbs up!maybe lower the prices to buy the full course haha, as I have to make sure I definitely want the value of the entire course.But overall - Very good!

Boards don't show properly, sometimes not at all. Used to be a favourite, but it needs a developer to update and test it for iOS 13. At its current state, it just doesn't work.EDIT - these issues have now thankfully been fixed!!! Back to five stars!!!
