I have used this for a few years now and was prompted to finally write a review after another helpful response from the Planta team of experts about some issues I’m having with an outdoor plant. They were the only people to correctly identify a parasitic plant growing on the suffering plant and gave detailed advice on how to treat it.I’d say it would be worth the annual subscription for this alone, but also I have never managed to keep so many plants not just alive but thriving for so long, and I have kept houseplants for 30+ years with varying degrees of success, the main problem being that I forget to water them, or forget when I last watered them, or forget how they change over the seasons so might think something is dead when it isn’t, and so on. Maybe for some people this might all seem quite straightforward stuff, but if you have problems remembering routine household tasks this will make a huge difference and really improve your living space over time. On and there is also help about which plants will do well in different places in your house, the app has a light meter, there are forums (I haven’t used those, may do one day though), and lots of other features. Well worth the annual subscription and the best out of all the plant identification apps (I have tried all of them..).

Think this is a great app, I’ve loved using it. I’ve been on the free version for a couple months and love it. I’m really considering buying a year subscription cause unlike everyone else on here it seems like, I think it’s definitely worth it. People also seemed ridiculously concerned with giving their email and location to the app however the email is just to have somewhere to save your plants to and the location is to help the app understand the climate you are living in to help you care for your plants more, not sure why everyone is so offended by it asking for these things, they make the app better. This app saves so much time for me, as I can now use it instead of trying to research every type of plant individually for their care. The customer service people seem very friendly and reasonable and the range of plants they have on the app is great and always getting bigger as they add more, they even said you can email them a plant they don’t have in order for them to add it if you are interested in a specific plant. The only thing I wish it had was a free trial of premium as I would love to see how it functions before committing for a whole year. As a whole though I love this app and I don’t know how I’d take care of all of my plants without it.

I found this app advertised on Instagram and I downloaded it for the scanning feature, as I own plants that I don’t really know their names and would be useful to know as they need different care. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that I cannot try the scanning feature unless I’ll purchase the premium version, so would be nice at least to have a free trail first. Also, I’ve checked the purchase options and obviously the yearly one is the most advantageous, but still I would prefer a one time buy app instead. Question for the developers: Is there any possibility to buy the premium version one time instead of having a subscription? From what I found and tried so far, this app is the most user friendly and professional and I really like it, but not sure if I can afford it monthly or yearly, so I’d rather pay a bit more and buy it one time. In case this option will be available, I understand for you might won’t be profitable and fair for the future updates because you are constantly working to develop it the best you can, but as a suggestion, you can charge extra the existing customers for the updates (if they want to update the app) and increase the value for the new customers. I’d really appreciate your response 😊.
