more I’ve been waiting for an app like this a long time. Others have added similar features for reading recipes from websites, but this works much better (80% success rate for me). The meal planner feature and integration with Reminders just lead to a great all round experience. Sure, there’s a few rough edges (scroll performance, not being able to add spaces to manually added ingredients), but the strength of the rest of the app make this very forgivable and it’s only an early version anyway. Well done, really excellent job!A couple requests:- If a recipe can’t be imported I’d love to be able to just add it anyway and view the website (like Pocket). This would let me store 100% of my recipes in the app.- It’d also be great to share with my partner and view recipes she’s added in the Discover feed.

Does what I wanted for recipe keeping, simple, beautiful, effective. Family sharing works do if you buy, then others can have it in your family for free but… a few niggles that I’d love to see improved. 1. Family sharing works, but no obvious way to sync recipes between family ? Maybe future update ? We can share by messages 1 to each other but really want a family recipe book2. Love that it remembers ingredients as a key tag - would be good to just show the amount on the start cooking recipe steps rather than having to click on each ?3. I create a lot of dairy free recipes - so often online recipes are the basis not identical. Would be nice to be able to edit information that is stored when importing an online recipe but don’t have that granularity when writing your own. Eg - editing the name of the author. Eg makes 6 biscuits… (can only put serves 6 etc)4. Love the idea of meal planner as we do this weekly, but again need to synchronise with my wife for this to work !

I had been using the app Savoury Pot for many years, amassing 459 recipes. It is no longer available on the App Store nor has it been updated for years so I was on the look out for a new recipe app. I looked at all the big names and loads of little ones but none did what I wanted, until I explored Pestle.Moving the files was not an easy feat but the support was immediate with a very generous offer of help. However, I managed to move the export through various apps and I am now the proud owner of 459 Pestle recipes. The support couldn’t be better and I look forward to years of using the app - and cooking, of course!

I am always looking for new recipes and this app is the best for saving them in one place rather than sixty tabs in a browser. My only thought for improvement would be the ability to add cookbook pages in (by picture maybe) or the ability to plan a cookbook and page number in the calendar so I know what I said I would make last Sunday when it comes to a fridge full of ingredients and a missing sticky note. I love this app as it is though so these thoughts aren’t going to stop me using it. So good.

– You can import unlimited recipes, and Pestle will upload when you have Pestle Pro (if above the free limit)
– Deleting your account now requires additional confirmation
– If an active filter means no recipes are visible, Pestle will let you reset your filter quickly.
– Minicook is now enabled by default and acts like a global toggle.
– Recipe scaling has been upgraded! You can now tap the servings label to scale to an exact amount, see the relative scale for recipes without a scale, and lock in a scale. And now units will automatically convert if they’re above a threshold, for example “3 tsp” will because “1 tbsp”.
– You can now get to timers from the recipe viewer page by tapping the … button.
Fixes:
– A crash could occur if you deleted the last category/cuisine in a list
– The Discover page’s Pestle Pro warning could double up.
– Moving steps between sections could result in unpredictable behaviour.
– Some search results could be included when they shouldn’t be.
– The Meal Plan widget wouldn’t reload quickly enough.
– The Shopping List quick launch action wouldn’t work.
– Recipes from ATK could have incorrect quantities
– Recipe deletion could fail in some cases
– PDF importing wouldn’t work if initiated out of app
– Pestle could crash if you tried to share a recipe on iPad.
