From start to finish selling your Car through Motorway is very easy. Getting a target price then taking pictures of the Car is very good and excellent guidance throughout. A short questionnaire with good support of exactly what to do. Maybe an adjustment to the target price if you have any defects etc. You need to be honest as it will be adjusted when the person checks the car and maybe a delay. It goes out for bids and you get an offer - they send you the highest bid along with range and number of bids. You can accept or not at this stage. If you accept you then get a call from the people that made the offer to arrange collection. On the date they come and check over the car and take pictures plus a short test drive and send the pics to the company with their inspection comments. Once the company agrees it is as stated then they post the money direct into your account. At that time the person fills in the on line car change document to the DVLA. When the money is in the account the DVLA are informed. The whole process of hand over inc money in the bank was about 45 mins. Every part of the process was very professional and friendly. I would 100% recommend MOTORWAY.

I have advertise 3 vehicles on motorway and been completely open and transparent on the cars history and condition. It does take a while to take pictures of every scratch, scuff or tiny dent but I wanted to make sure the buyers is not surprised with anything when they view the car. NOTE: You will always get the car sold via motorway, but I noticed that traders take advantage by offering good money just to win the bid then knock the price down once they come to inspect it. Even though I have been completely honest about the vehicle condition when advertised. It’s happened to me and my friends a couple of times who have used this platform. Another issue is of traders/buyers using other drivers to collect the car. Motorway state that the buyer will contact you within 48 hours. One of the cars I sold the trader/buyer call me back a full week later. I had another trader/buyer agree to a date, he called a couple days after to tell me he has had a cancellation and he can collect the car earlier, because I couldn’t commit to that day he wanted he failed to collect the car on the original planned date and push the collection back another week. I took a day off work just to be told his not coming (bearing in mind I had to call him to find out this). Motorway is a good platform but they need to be mindful of the rogue traders that take advantage of the situation. I can give you more bad experiences but I be here all day.

A straight forward and simple process. From my initial enquiry it took just two days to get an offer from a dealer and me to accept. And although this was below the motorway estimate I was fairly happy with that as it was more than others were offering and certainly more than a part exchange. I was in contact with the purchasing dealer and they were arranging collection with motorway. Collection was the only reason I gave 4 stars, this took around 10 days, had a collection been arranged sooner I would have given 5 stars plus! Because the overall service was great, this also followed on during collection day also which went very smoothly, with the money being transferred before the car was driven away. Highly recommended, be even higher if could they improve the collection time.

The amount of information Motorway asked for, this should have been the perfect transaction, but we got the motor dealer from hell bid on our vehicle. Watch out for the trucks they use…kept us waiting at least 2 weeks after the auction ended, before collection, then send a third party to inspect the vehicle (fair enough)…only they make their money by getting the final bid reduced, so will come up with any nonsense to lower the price. After an hour of running the engine, with vehicle stationary, all he could find, were scratches we’d already notified and photographed (so bid had been made on that basis) and a fabrication that the entertainment system didn’t work - complete lie, we were able to turn the radio on and prove it. Complete waste of time, both the trader and the ‘inspector’ turned nasty, when I refused to budge on price. They were obviously relying on me being desperate to sell (hence the long wait). More fool them. I was able to sell it privately the next day, no issues at all, buyer highly delighted and they paid more than the top bid on Motorway. I really wish I’d just done that to start with. It was a fabulous vehicle and someone has an absolute bargain
