PUSH is about building muscle as fast as possible - with science. We achieve this with an algorithm built based strictly on published peer-reviewed research. You don't have to take our word for it, you can tap the referenced articles throughout the app as you use it.
- Our workouts are based on scientific research and your training data over time. You can view exactly how everything works in the app and read the references for yourself.
- PUSH generates a program based on your experience, sleep, gender, stress and time available to train. We fine tune your volume, frequency, rep range and exercise selection based on published research relating to these factors.
- Exercises are selected based on resistance curve and rep range.
- Over time PUSH will periodise and progress your program. We use your data to give you actionable insights including daily undulating periodisation systems. Don’t know what that means? You can read our short form (referenced) articles, or don’t! PUSH manages everything automatically for you anyway to keep you gaining.
- Don’t like an exercise? PUSH will suggest the most similar exercises based on fatigue and resistance curve.
- Optimised gym workouts make your weight lifting routine as efficient as possible at the gym. Built to help you get bigger, stronger, and reach your fitness goals
- PUSH smart exercise planner schedules weightlifting exercises on a better schedule than common 5x5 routines. Whether you’re lifting with free weights, barbells or machines, the PUSH gym log and tracker is sure to exceed your muscle building hypertrophy.
- Wether you want to get more toned, lean, bulk or cut, PUSH will generate the most optimal possible program by today’s standards
HealthKit Integration
HealthKit integration is used to save your workouts from PUSH to your Health data, which can be viewed from the Health app on your device.
Metabolic rates and bodyweight are read to determine current bulking or cutting status.

I’ve been using push for a couple of months now, pretty much since it came out - it’s the best workout tracker I’ve used by far for my needs. I don’t have time to be deep on the subreddits then programming in my own workouts. I love how Push does all the programming, the increments, the new exercises all for me. There are a few things that could be improved:- I sometimes switch the exercise (great feature) but I’d like to be able to specify if this was a one-off (machine was busy) or permanent (my gym doesn’t have that machine)- the weight increases don’t seem to correspond to standard increments. Plates in the gyms I use increment at 1.25kg, but rubber dumbbells increment at 2kgs, so on a movement like dumbbell shoulder press, the only increment I can do is 4, but Push either increase in 2s or 2.5s.Overall great app!
Glitches let it down

I’ve waited a couple of months to write this review but now the glitches in the app are making it too annoying and frustrating. Overall it’s a great app, progressive overload, some good info points, helpful exercise graphics etc. What let’s it down though, are the glitches. For example, the assisted pull up is random AF. Can’t work out what it’s saying. I’m 82kg and it’s saying next time I need to lift -128kg. Next time it might say -49kg. Too varied, too random. Some explanation of what it’s suggesting would at least help. Often the graphics are frozen, and if you wanna choose an alternative exercise it gives you a list choice of alternatives to fit that muscle group but doesn’t give any indication what the exercise actually is. Not great for beginners. Support is good if you email, but who’s got time to keep doing that?? Some exercises have two weight stacks, is the suggested weight a total of the two stacks or the weight for each stack or each dumbbell? These are things that aren’t gonna ruin your workout but it’s seriously jarring having to spend time precious gym time trying to work out what the app is suggesting instead of everything being made clear so you can just get on with lifting. All in all for all my complaints it’s an effective and helpful app and has great potential but a lot of kinks need ironing out if I’m gonna commit another years money on the subscription.
Hands down the best gym app I’ve used!

I feel like they have thought of everything when developing this app, it’s brilliant! A few basic questions and I’ve got a tailored plan that fits my schedule. No more manually entering each exercise, figuring out rest time, sets and progressive overload. It is all calculated for you and is straight forward to understand. The progressive overload is sometimes abit ambitious but it’s easy to edit. If a piece of equipment is not available in your gym there’s other suggested exercises and each exercise has a demonstration video. You simply can’t go wrong with this app, for me it’s perfect and I recommend it to everyone. If your time is limited and you want the benefits of a PT, but perhaps you can’t justify one then just get this app, you won’t regret it!
Not bad (updated v3)

So overall it’s a good attempt at a complete redesign which is never an easy task, smaller iterative updates are better and more effective but at least this is a new foundation to build off. Few issues noted in the new version which may cause frustration:- still can’t set a rep range, has to be a set number of reps- when generating 4 day workouts (e.g. upper lower) the lower day is exactly the same on both days which might be effective for hypertrophy but keeping a trainee engaged it won’t be. Probably based on my equipment available but I have stuff like a pull up bar which isn’t covered under the options - you need to set available equipment more granular.- colours are awful (sorry guys)- needs a light/dark theme as the black with white text is hard to read- creating supersets isn’t intuitive (can’t create giant sets or similar)- no time based option, e.g. plank sets up as reps not 30/60 seconds etc. - no way to set known 1rm or training maxes so the starting weights are set appropriately, it’s so laborious to go through and change them all when generating a programme. - can’t edit supersets, only option is to delete them and recreate, frustrating when I wanted to swap the order of the exercises in the superset.- sometimes it take a couple of taps to register the interaction. Definitely needs more to justify the price tag, sorry guys. So much potential but you’re in an incredibly competitive app game here and there’s a lot more mature apps out there with all the above and more. So I genuinely wish you good luck and look forward to seeing the next iterations.
