I have used Rebtel for many years now. This has allowed me to stay connected with my aging parents in Canada. My father was dying and I called him (and Mom) a lot during that time. I now talk with my Mom a lot as she is doing less well without her husband. It’s a great comfort to me to know I can call anytime, at a reasonable cost. When you use this app, it makes you think you are getting value for money. Wrong! You are charged thrice overall!First, you pay Rebtel for the calls you make. OK but where it begins to get creepy is next, you pay Rebtel for all the minutes during which your phone is still ringing to the receiver’s number but they haven’t yet picked up. This is Rebtel’s underhand dealing to eke the most money out of you! First time I’m learning that it is possible you get charged before you even start talking to the other end! And if you are unlucky enough that your receiver does not pick up at all, all of the time your call beeped them and you waited for them to see if they would pick up, Rebtel will still charge you for! It is ridiculous!Then, all of this on the back of the fact that Rebtel is not connecting your calls independent of your telephone service provider means that your service provider issues an additional charge for calling local. Which all adds up to you paying thrice! It’s just a RIP-off! but Rebtel thrives on unsuspecting people who think that Rebtel is providing an amazing service. The only thing that is amazing is how they get away with murder and then blame your service provider if you complain.

I recently visited India and would like to keep in touch with UK.One day I tried number starting with 033- couldn’t connect- contacted customer service. I was told it is premium number so not eligible.Next day I had to call number starting with 0208( London land line number)- not connecting. So frustrated - I have to activate my roaming call service ( charge is high with my existing O2 network), able to talk to the people I wanted to talk.I contacted customer service immediately, explained situation. I got reply as “ number is unreachable, so could not do anything “!!! This is intact after I was able to make a call to the same number ( of course using my roaming )with in few minutes. I am so disappointed.May be some other better service available( May be expensive than this). But chose a good one if you need to make calls reliably.

Not sure if this app is legit. I just signed up and they gave me a promotional deal of getting 25 mins for £2.50. I processed this and made payment. The money has been debited from my account but on my Rebtel account, it shows that the balance is 0. I already have an international calling app I use and wanted to try this. Now I wish I didn’t. I tried to use their online Lego and fill out the form. Why can’t I submit it and I keep getting a pop up message saying the email is already registered to another account! I am not trying to register account, I am trying to raise a ticket to get support for something. Very very sketchy. Rest assured I’ll get my money back either way! I usually read reviews but it’s unfortunate I didn’t before downloading and making payment. Now I’m looking at reviews I’m seeing this app might definitely be FRAUDULENT!!
