Avenza Maps Plus and Pro are available as annual subscriptions. You can subscribe and pay through your Apple ID. Subscriptions are 12 months in duration and will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan. Auto-renewal can be turned off in your iTunes Account Settings. If you didn’t use iTunes to subscribe, you can manage your subscription through Avenza.

While not as detailed as the OS map app, Avenza maps are really excellent in following long distance trails. There are inevitably confusing points which the “blue spot” rapidly resolves. On high ground in fog it is an indispensable safety aid making it easy to follow tracks which would otherwise be totally unclear. If you are walking a long trail, don’t set off without it!
No use for basic surveys

This is no professional tool. Problem 1. recording survey points have no associated altitude. Your competitors have this and it is a most basic attribute. Problem 2. On UK coordinate system OS grid, the maximum resolution is 1 metre – many devices can do better than that now especially with external GPS so recording to nearest metre is throwning away precision. 3. Showing only a single map on screen at once, even with the Collections feature is very clunky – have the screen is black until you cross the join until the other half suddenly goes black. Impossible to understand features when you are close to the edge. Near a corner of a map where you have all 4 adjacent maps on your device, three quarters of the screen is black! Have I missed something here? The free tiles viewable for OS Maps VectorMap District are wonderful maps but have no contours and cannot be described as topographic. If Avenza is to be a useful pro tool in UK, you need to partner with OS or another to provide decent seamless topographic mapping.

Thank you for your review. We are looking at implementing several features that you mention (elevation, as well as more seamless transition between maps in a collection). In regards to the maps resolution, and missing contours - our vendors are in complete control of the maps that are updated and they choose which data to display. Paid for the plus but missing features as advertised on their website

Really poor. I paid for ‘plus’ as I needed to use BGR grid reference for my research only to be told by customers services that I had to buy the pro version even though it stated very clearly on their site of which I took screenshots that this feature was included in the plus version.Customer service reporting this to their web development team so they can quickly remove …Also standard os maps are not detailed enough stick with the official OS Maps App instead or Locus maps when it shortly comes out on IOS
