HOW IT WORKS
1) Log your day: search over 1 million foods, scan a barcode or pick from your Frequents, then add your symptoms, sleep, stress and anything else you want to track
2) Keep logging for 28 days, so the analysis has enough of your data to work with
3) Open Insights to see what's associated with your symptoms, with every result explained in a plain-English sentence
No calorie counting and no diet targets: just your diary and the patterns in it.
"I did the one week trial and was sold. I've already recommended it to friends and family." – App Store review
MORE THAN A FOOD DIARY
What you eat and do:
• Food and drink, including your own foods and recipes
• Medication and supplements
• Exercise, stress, your period and your environment
How you feel:
• Any symptom you choose, with intensity, duration and notes
• Sleep quality, mood and energy
• Bowel movements (Bristol scale)
INSIGHTS FROM YOUR OWN DIARY
• See which foods and factors are associated with increased or reduced symptoms
• Looks at the ingredients in what you eat, not just whole meals
• Every result shows a confidence level, so you can tell which patterns have plenty of data behind them and which need more logging
• Look beyond symptoms: see what's associated with your sleep quality, mood, energy and bowel movements too
• The Insights Timeline shows what you ate, did and felt on one interactive timeline
• Trend charts and reports show how your symptoms change over time
USED IN PEER-REVIEWED RESEARCH
mySymptoms diary data has been used in peer-reviewed research: a 2024 study in Digestive Diseases and Sciences analyzed 9,710 anonymized diaries and found that coffee, alcohol and artificial sweeteners had time-linked associations with gut symptoms.
SHARING AND PRIVACY
• Share your diary securely with your dietitian or clinician, or export it as PDF or CSV
• Sync across every phone and tablet signed in to your account
• Anonymous username by default; your data is encrypted in transit and at rest

With the help of this app I have got my life back. When doctors failed to understand my disparate symptoms of asthma, digestive and horrendous gerd symptoms I decided to start a food & everything diary. This app was the one I chose as it looked comprehensive and easy to use. I wasn’t wrong. I’ve been able to jot down all pertinent information about my daily health, diet, exercise, mood, everything. I’ve used it primarily for an elimination diet. I now have no asthma, no gerd, no digestive issues…and now no Oates. This app has helped me through a very dark time when I thought I’d never get to the bottom of my health issues. I’ve discovered I’m Oat (avenin) intolerant which I don’t believe would have been discovered if it hadn’t been for this app’s many features. I can not recommend it highly enough for anyone wishing to monitor/journal their health intake etc.
Favourite food & symptoms tracking app!

This app is honestly amazing for any IBS sufferers. It’s very straightforward and intuitive, although it does have a user guide within the app should you need assistance with anything. I love that you can see the exact time you’ve made a diary entry as it helps me stay aware of my choices and it keeps me accountable. I’m also happy that I can go back to a previous day and fill up my diary if I was too busy to do it on the day. The graphs are helpful and I’m glad they are transparent about correlation not causation and that they include confidence levels. The graphics are ok, the app has a clean look, nothing fancy but nice and easy to use.A few suggestion for the developers: introduce a trends tab, for example one of your competitors has trends graphs of how the bowel movements fluctuate within a week or within a month. That would be helpful as well as stress trends or maybe some way to see them both on the graph to see the correlation. Also, it’d be good if you could fetch health data from Apple’s Health app and link the results to that. For example, a big trigger for my flare-ups is lack of sleep and I track my sleep on my smart watch so it’d be cool if MySymptoms could pick up on lack of sleep etc. You could do it for other smart watches too, like Garmin or Fitbit. Exercise and sleep definitely impact IBS so it’d be amazing if that was an option.
Comprehensive, fantastic app

Recommended in the back of a book, Histamine Reset plan, I’d been looking for an app, nothing like this was suggested on the App Store. So I’m glad I read about it rather than scrolling through what the App Store suggested. Fantastic! I’ve even downloaded on my husbands phone and suggested to friends who have ADhD, autistic kids or like me adults who need to know their intolerance triggers. I imagine my diet will improve swiftly because seeing the ingredients pop up for things I didn’t think were the potential problem - oat milk - makes me think again about using them.Easy to use, and so many options from mood, energy, symptom, bowel etc, and you can then add in your own symptoms, so very pleased this app is everything I needed in an app but didn’t think existed.
Great food diary app
JoA9876
I was looking for an app to record my daily eating and symptoms to try to identify whether certain foods trigger symptoms. I’ve been using the app for nearly two weeks and it’s perfect for what I wanted. It’s easy to add my meals and snacks and lots of other data that might be useful. I can add my own recipes, and my meal favourites come up so I don’t have to search for them each time. I’d recommend this app if you want to track your eating or for recording exercise and nutrition for a dietitian or personal trainer. I’ve found it so much easier than writing down in a notebook or on my phone notes. I would recommend this app.
