I've used several offline map apps. This is my favorite. Because...- is user friendly (one or two others are not)- has integration with Wikipedia (not all others do)- has maintained the features I bought in an earlier version without charging me again when a new version is released (not true for all apps) Offline Maps are a great feature of smartphones. Imagine you are in a foreign country with no internet access. You are on a bus from the airport. Where do you get off? When do you press the "request stop" button? Where am I relative to the bus stop?You have previously marked the hotel on your map. This app will update the bus's current location using your GPS function (ie no data used) and you can watch your progress on the map. You can see which bus stop you need to get off at and you press the "request stop" button at the right time (yes, the maps ARE that detailed). The next day you visit the coffee shop for breakfast which you had read about in the papers a few weeks before (and you had saved into a list) and then you go past a museum which you think looks interesting so you read (basic) information about it on the downloaded (by the app) Wikipedia page. At the end of the day you decide to go for dinner in somewhere recommended by another ulmon user. You see where it is relative to your hotel and walk there avoiding the use of a taxi. All offline via this app...**I can share my favorite places with friends (or strangers!) when I have wifi. I can also save the lists after I have deleted the map. This means I can use the locations again when I download the maps again at a later date (to save my phone's memory)Genius.

As an international airline pilot of 32 years, this APP is essential as it not only allows you to download maps of your destination, but also an additional download for amenities in the city you travel to.I often talk to crew in the way to a destination and when they talk about places to go or see, this APP allows me to instantly access (while offline, pre downloaded) the city data I need.For navigation purposes, it is not as complex as navigation APPs but allows you to "STAR" mark positions (hotel and places of interest) and see your location as you travel between them, WITHOUT NEEDING A DATA PACKAGE.Of all the APPs on my phone, as an international traveller, my life is made easier with this and is very easy to use and detailed enough for most visitors to any destination.I never generally write APP reviews, but this APP deserves the credit for its ingenuity and making travellers experiences more simple and enjoyable, without having to purchase data in your chosen destination.Well done to the developers from a happy traveller who's home is the next city I download every week!

I’ve had this app for years and it’s genius. I then got hit with a new payment or to renew my payment, which after 5 or so years I was happy to pay. Now it doesn’t work. Twice I’ve been stuck in the Middle East with an offline downloaded map which is just blank. The first time I even gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it was my error, I was up by the Syrian border at this point so it wasn’t great timing, but the second time after about an hour out of my hotel it went blank, so was working then stopped. I recorded this both with a screen recorder and snapshots, submitted it to try and get it resolved and didn’t even receive a reply. If the app hadn’t been so good before I probably wouldn’t be so annoyed. It’s not great getting stranded downtown a dusty city with no signal and no map, especially when you’ve paid for it! Save your money.

I mostly use this app to download the next place I am going to, so I have a good idea of the place and how to get around, we walk so it shows all the streets lovely. Particularly like not having to have internet as I am an Ipad user not phone so suits me fine. Have recommended to lots of people over time. Just got back from a cruise that included Venice downloaded map before and looked at it used it in conjunction with the Google map beforehand so had a really good idea with what I was going to do. Still using keep local map and use it many times a month to see "home" places as well as when away
