Signing up for eharmony is one of the biggest financial mistakes a person can make, and anyone considering it needs to know that this company operates like absolute thieves. They reel you in with the promise of finding a serious relationship, but their actual business model is a predatory trap designed to lock you into a massive financial commitment you cannot escape. They trick you by displaying what looks like a manageable monthly fee, but what they completely bury in the fine print is that you are actually signing an ironclad one-year or two-year contract. Even if you realize within the first few weeks that the app is completely useless, you are stuck paying for the entire year, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.The platform itself is a complete waste of money. You pay an incredibly steep price for a service that feels totally dead and entirely broken, yet they keep draining your bank account month after month. It is infuriating to watch your hard-earned money leave your account for something you haven’t touched in months and have absolutely no intention of using again. They make it incredibly easy to take your card details, but the moment you try to walk away because the product is garbage, they completely lock down the exits.If you try to reach out to their customer service to explain your situation, you will face a total brick wall. Their email support doesn't care about customer satisfaction or fairness at all; they only care about taking your money. You can send back-and-forth emails explaining that you don't use the app and asking them to stop the billing, but they will completely ignore your pleas and just copy-paste their rigid terms and conditions at you. They will even happily let you delete your profile if you ask, but they will stubbornly continue to charge your credit card for the remaining months of the contract. They are modern-day scammers hiding behind corporate policies, and anyone looking for love should avoid them at all costs before they end up paying hundreds of pounds for absolutely nothing.

Whilst I can understand that eHarmony uses specific logic and matching to pair up couples, they do themselves no favours getting potential customers to sign up and find their partner using their business model.After registration and filling in all the compatibility data, your access is so restricted that if you can send just one message to someone that is a major breakthrough!!.I had completed everything I could, and even messaged one possible person that was compatible, they wrote back to me but I was unable to reply because every time I tried to it took me to the pay screen. The prices for the subscription are very high, and from what I understand once you have subscribed it is very difficult to cancel your subscription, it would be far better if they offered you a month by month subscription even if it was slightly more expensive than paying for an annual one, this would then allow the customer to cancel after 30 days. Photographs are completely blurred, so you have no idea what anyone looks like unless you pay, One person who was actually interested in my profile wrote to me and said look forward to receiving your communication however I was unable to even reply to this unless I registered and paid. Sadly I have now had to delete my account, as it is pointless leaving it on there as I am unable to communicate with anybody!

I’m writing this review about dating apps in general on the App Store. I’ve got a fair amount of experience myself with this subject but have also taken the time to read the reviews on the App Store for all of the major players in this genre and it’s pretty astonishing reading. Basically every dating app now charges at least 25% more than a couple of years ago with the average price per month being around £35. Now that use to get you a premium membership subscription and you got access to all areas and services, but nowadays you are also constantly charged for essential extras as an extra service which if you fully indulged yourself could cost you up to £100 per month including the monthly subscription fee. Then there’s the question of are the profiles in date or are they old members profiles who believe the deleted their accounts but the app is still using them along with bots who aren’t real people but using AI can answer you and then there’s just the absolute plain fakes which are a photograph of someone and completely fictional profile information. Any way you look at it these companies are over charging, ripping off their customers, lying or telling half truths, being sneaky with their T&C’s and just plain awful to their customers some of which can be at a very vulnerable stage in their lives and desperate to find love. New laws and legislation is needed for these sort of services because it seems that the scammers and heartless corporate executives are in charge nowadays and your going to end up regretting your decision to enter your credit card details into your phone!!

I regret ever having any dealings with eharmony. Once you get through the long and drawn out questionnaire, you cannot see any of your potential matches, and just a few people that have sent you messages. They blur out everyone’s faces until you pay for their extortionate membership. The shortest membership you can get is 6 months which is a big commitment, considering you don’t get a chance to see any potential suitors beforehand.The 6 month membership is at a ‘discounted’ price of £134, and apparently you can cancel it within 14 days to get a refund, but you don’t get a full refund. They will deduct what they call ‘a reasonable amount’ from the payment, without specifying how much that is exactly until you request the refund. Be aware that they deduct half of the fee, because of the ‘detailed match results’. This is ridiculous because my match results were poor and let’s face it, it’s not like one person was tirelessly looking for matches on your behalf, it was an algorithm!The customer service is poor, very rude staff who only care about taking your money. They either don’t respond, or take ages to reply.A complete waste of money. Please save your money and go for a better dating site that actually cares about their customers, and is more fair and practical about how much they charge.
