Great app, with steadily improving functionality over the 3 years I’ve had it. Highly recommend, *although* it is irritating that it is limited to two iOS devices at once. I often fly with two iPads (for safety) plus my phone - and I can’t use them all at the same time due to limitations on maximum concurrent logins. It would be much better to have some other checks to prevent abuse of licensing (eg spot check devices are in the same aircraft/retrospectively) rather than put a user in the position they can’t use a backup phone if the first iPad is out of battery and the second has just crashed/overheated (this has happened twice!). Also, the logbook function could be better - hard to curate logs when you fly three different classes of aircraft (SEP, Turboprop and Rotary wing). Some more filtering/searching/manual adjustment would make the logbook feature really useful.These niggles apart, basically great.

It is a great app, and helps with planning and flight execution. Must have for any GA pilot flying in Europe. However it is important to remember it cannot substitute official sources, as it is not certified by flying regulators. With high reliability it is sometimes easy to forget that it should be used as assist to flight planning not as replacement to official sources, and sometimes crucial information may (and occasionally do), be missing or be different. It's generally very reliable, but when its not it's still your responsibility to ensure flight safety and check all information in official sources, otherwise sooner or later you will breach the regulation and may compromise flight safety and get into serious trouble. Again it's not Skydemon fault as they are doing extra-ordinary good work and it's worth every penny. But be aware and remember this to stay safe and out of trouble.

SkyDemon is just absolutely fantastic, an essential preflight planning and inflight navigation. At a bargain price, it is constantly being improved, and enables you to have the latest up-to-date maps and information. Run it on your PC, tablet and phone, easily sync between your devices so you can fly with a tablet and have your phone as a backup. Brilliant! Definitely the best aviation spend every year. Still after many years this continued to be the Best of the Best, with an absolutely brilliant and responsive support and development team. If all software was as good as this, we would be living in the perfect IT world.Update in August 2023. Have been using Sky Demon now for so many years, it is just absolutely brilliant, the annual subscription renewal is still the best value spend on my aviation hobby.
Very well thought out and implemented

Having used the main opposition in the UK for years, I decided to give SkyDemon a go, so that I could be familiar with both major flying apps when instructing. SkyDemon is well thought out and implemented. The NOTAM interface is clear and very easy to use. There are a host of useful functions too numerous to mention in a short review, but downloading the trial version gave me sufficient time to look at them all. For en route planning and navigation, it is excellent. The chart is not as detailed as the half-mil CAA Charts that you can use with the opposition. In my local area, this means the omission of some glaringly obvious ground features, including an entire RAF/USAF base, and a series of distinctive square lakes. Yes, I know the GPS tells you where you are, but I still want to be able to confirm my position with a visual fix.
