Why change the app?

Timeleft was an amazing concept but lately has been struggling. My first issue has been the fact that despite choosing a $$$ budget I always get sent to a basic noodle bar. The second disappointment was the change of feedback that they had rolled out. Before you just rated fellow diners with stars out of five and only if you both rated highly could you connect. Now this latest rollout means they ALL connect in your contacts and you have to actively remove them if you don’t want to chat. Plus, they now ask you to assign weird compliments to them about their personalities that are pre-scripted. This is very American and absolutely NOT the British way of doing things. Myself and my friends hate it. Next time I will just be skipping the feedback. And lastly, they have removed the ability to just buy a dinner here and there, now you are forced to subscribe which leads to LOTS more cancellations on the night. At my dinner last week FOUR people dropped out. Not cool. This didn’t happen as much when people actively paid for the dinner as a one-off. Did you test these changes before rolling out to everyone? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

These updates are intentional and aimed at improving consistency, attendance, and how connections continue after each dinner. With the latest release, you’ll now see everyone from your table to make follow-ups easier, but you’re always in control. If there’s someone you didn’t connect with, you can simply remove them from your list directly in the app. That said, areas like venue matching, feedback experience, and overall flexibility are actively being refined to better reflect user expectations. Feedback like this plays a key role in those improvements, and we’re continuously working to make the experience more balanced and reliable.

This is definitely one of the best experiences I’ve done with strangers who are now friends. This is a perfect way to meet all types of different people from different backgrounds who all share the same exact mindset and this to talk to people you’ve never met or have any connection to whatsoever to then being friends/ friend group with everyone finding what they have in common and what they don’t and embrace both sides and I’d do it again for sure
