Why this game exists
This game is a tribute to my father, who introduced me to Mahjong in the 1980s.
He passed away before my son Leon was born, so they never met. Leon helped shape the game as its youngest (and loudest) stakeholder.
In a small way, this game became a bridge between them.

I didn’t think I would though. But it’s challenging, without being too difficult, some games take two or three attempts. I personally don’t enjoy games that are too easy. Best bit is obviously no ads and no costs. Yay 😍.Maybe there should be a shuffle option ?

I found this app from a post by the game designer on Reddit. It cost 99p for a not quite super slick implementation and I am so much happier with this software than all the fancy “free” ad-powered apps out there. I want to leave this review because I know that the developer won’t be able to afford advertising in the same way as the apps that appear at the top of the listings and I wish the system worked better and this app had been more discoverable for me when I first searched for a Mahjong solitaire app.

EDIT: I got in touch with the developer and currently solvable boards are Anton, Spaceship, Packed & Inner. As these actually solvable? I don’t know how many games I’ve played but I get to about 70-50 tiles and then there’s no more moves on classic. The only ones I’ve been able to solve are the simple mini boards. It’s addictive and fun to play though. Great to get a game with no ads.

Hi! Thanks for contacting me, and for your review. Version 1.23 has been released and now the default configuration creates boards with at least one solution. So every board is solvable.

No ads, no IAPs, just a fun puzzle. The only thing I’d request as an improvement would be iCloud sync across devices so I can easily keep track of how many times I’ve won across all devices.

About iCloud sync: it’s not planned at the moment. One of the core ideas of the game is to stay fully private and work completely offline—no accounts, no internet, and no data leaving your device. iCloud would require cloud storage and an online connection, which goes against that design.Thanks again for your feedback and support!All the best,Lucas
This update moves the game to a newer version of its engine, for better performance and stability on the latest iPhone and iPad.
We also fixed a bug where a tap on the last tiles of a board could press a button on the win screen.
