As I am normally not very good at crosswords I find this an ideal challenge. It’s different and kills time really really well. The pictures and abbreviations are an also pleasant change. I thought at first that the AI was a little rigged but not so. I can’t win every game but some are really close finishes which adds to the fun. I pass quite a lot but the AI has never passed and I’m into the twenty something in games. Quite often I pass while holding onto a letter or two so this adds a bit of strategy and probably explains why the AI never passes as it always plays letters going for a straight win. Highly recommended. Ps I’ve got it on my phone as well but it’s still fun as I guess the letters you get are random. Nice One! ❣️😃😀😉

Good but the Ads

This is a fun game. It’s a bit of a mix of scrabble and arrow word crosswords which are my favourite kind. The clues are sometimes confusing and while I kind of get it once the answer is revealed it’s a bit odd (like the clue “presents” that got the answer “nows”). Occasionally tile distribution seems heavily in favour of the AI - I will have zero vowels and no letters I can think of to use but the AI knows the words and coincidentally gets tiles that complete whole words while I keep having to pass. On the plus side if you lose the quiz remains exactly the same to you know where to put your tiles next time and can win. The reason it’s only 3 stars for me is that the ads made me delete the game. I get ads are a thing in free games and I fully expect them at the start and end of games and even in the middle if you want clues or something, but every 2 or 3 moves? You can skip them fairly quickly though it does the usual thing of showing the “skip ad” sign, then showing a pop up you have to close, then click an x which usually has its own little countdown so you end up clicking about 4 or 5 different things to get back to the game. After a couple games it got too much for me but ads don’t bother everyone the same, and if they don’t bother you this is a great game!

Good but the Ads

The game is really fun and it is addictive, I love playing it. The ads are short and bearable, and not super often so it’s a really good balance. I find the crosswords challenging enough without being boring but also not completely impossible to solve. I only give 4 star because of 2 things: 1. I’d like an option to pay to remove the ads, there is no such option to pay like £5 or whatever to have an ad free experience. 2. Using the game makes my current phone (which I only got a brand new a month ago) absolutely boiling hot to the point where it lags. This isn’t an issue I have with any other games or app, so it seems the game uses a lot of energy from the phone; which is strange as it’s not a particularly complex app or anything. This means I can only play it in 15 minute increments to avoid my phone getting too toasty, which is really annoying. I don’t know what causes this but a fix would be really useful.

I like the actual game, but time after time the opponent gets the letter that you need to complete a word, so they get the points. You can hold back a couple of letters instead of having just one letter missing, so you can complete a word when you have both the letters in possession. However, the opponent always gets the letters, and guess what, the only way to get the letters you need is to keep swapping the letters, which of course requires you to watch an AD fully. You have to watch so many ads to enable you to keep swapping, which is tedious and annoying. The game is rigged to require you to keep swapping letters (else you will lose). So I am finally annoyed enough to finally decide to delete this game. It’s just an app to push ads onto you. Nothing more.Updated Response to developer:You want me to capture a specific instance when it was unfair? I can’t do that, as I have deleted the game. You do your own research. Sounds like you don’t believe me. That’s your problem. I’m not wasting any more time on this.
