GitSync is a git client that simplifies syncing a folder between a git remote and a local directory. With a simple one-time setup, it keeps your files synced using background tasks, Siri shortcuts, home screen widgets, and manual triggers.

I use this with Obsidian, and it works mostly. However, recently every time there is a new update it forgets all my previous settings and I have to select my repo again. This morning it made me go through the entire “new user” setup again, and of course, I can’t remember what my settings were. Hoping that whatever settings I chose today will still be ok.The UI keeps changing each update, but it sounds really do with ensuring that it doesn’t forget my settings all the time.

Not great with Obsidian

Sometimes it takes ages to connect with no feedback on what is taking time.You have to be super mindful of using it with Obsidian; you have to open GitSync, wait N-minutes (often) for the sync to complete, then open Obsidian. And then rsync when you're finished locally editing. If you don't changed are lost when the pull-merge occurs. Without the connection delay I could live with these issues.UI is not one a git-cli user would create, and the UI tries to be clever but just gets in the way. No description what features unlock on the "premium" option.No rebase option.No graph-view.Overall, it feels like AI Slop to use, I'm very sorry to say. But, at least it's open source, hence the 2 stars.

Hey, I really appreciate your feedback! I have tried to improve a few of the things you have mentioned in the latest version of the app, including better feedback on background operations. I'm also going to work on the iOS experience (Android has been the focus for a while) so that it is a bit more polished for day-to-day sync. I believe there are some file access things that are causing a difference in behaviour. All paid features have been consolidated under premium with a better overview of what you get access to and I am working on adding more of the git things you'd expect (the focus has been sync). Not AI slop, but I understand how the experience has been, so hoping to improve it for you soon :)
