This app works as advertised. It is especially useful if you have lots of short notes to catalogue and regularly search - just like notational velocity did. I am using it to store references and quotations, and have thousands of them. It works a treat: I can create, edit and search notes so quickly and it has been 100% stable so far. The tagging function is a really powerful feature which makes large numbers of notes manageable and this is really simply but well implemented. A double bonus is no subscriptions (normal folk like me cannot afford subscriptions for dozens of everyday apps - but happy to pay for apps and new versions if the price is fair, as here). My thanks to the developer for filling the gap with this app and pricing - highly recommended.

Excellent iOS + macOS synced notes 😍

Once upon a time there was a legendary minimalist note taking system for macOS called notational velocity. It simplified and optimised and was loved by many. FSNotes is a spiritual successor to NV (and children like NVAlt). Running FSNotes on multiple desktop and mobile devices uses iCloud which works perfectly. The UI is elegant, capturing the simple search/create unified mode of NV, but adding project folders alongside synced tagging. The macOS version has versioning and other additional features. The developer and open source contributors are active and very engaged, and are responsive to feature suggestions. Altogether a wonderful note taking/searching/syncing experience!!!

what I like is that I can edit notes on Mac using normal text editor (I use Bean) and they auto sync to FSNotes app on iPhone and iPad. Using three devices means that on rare occasions there will be a conflict but no worries: versions are preserved. Please do not abandon support for .rtf. This is not listed in file types but still works!

Works like a dream. Now I have nvALT back on my Mac. Solid, reliable, no lock-in as text files written to disk. Great markdown support. Five stars from me.
