If I’m honest this was our main reason for visiting Miami. Yes, flying all the way from the UK (we don’t have them there you see…) to see them in their natural habitat, up close, was a dream come true. Sean our tour guide was phenomenal and made sure everyone was safe and had a super special time. We met several gorgeous, fluffy, gentle, little critters and I am now even more smitten with raccoons than I was before. My son who is 16 also had an absolute blast. And other than a couple of growly situations when we got stuck in the mangroves - we had a blast. And both first time kayaker’s so quite frankly I’m amazed we are still speaking to each other and not still floating around the bay in a huff with each other… And once we got to the island it was all worth it. Special beyond words. The group went for a wander around the island too, and even got to spot Dexter’s apartment, but I wanted to spend as much time with the raccons as possible and got some amazing time with them just chilling watching them munch on watermelon and crackers. Don’t think twice about booking this activity. Just do it now. You won’t be disappointed! I’m now off to plant several trees, in an attempt to offset the mahooosive carbon footprint it took to get us here. Totally with it though. Ten times over. x
A really good service

When spending quite a bit of money not only on your holiday but then on a guide, you want it to be right. I used this company for a couple of tours (& also another company that also advises about trips!) to get comparisons. Our guide was at the meeting point well before the advertised time, was welcoming, and very authentic - both guides were locals so injected there knowledge with further background info. There guides were like history lesson and all the topic was covered. Came away thinking I had definitely learnt about the subject. If there was one thing I would change - do your homework before you go! We were slightly rushed, but this was not the guide, it was due to the amount of people actually visiting the same place at the same time. The skip the queue is fab, but, when the place is rammed by other tourists it’s not easy to get the best views, and spend as little much time as you would have liked. An example would be, for me I fortunately booked a night time tour of the Colosseum and I am glad I did as day time it was heaving (although apparently once upon a time it could seat 50,000!).

I was starting to use this app and it was going fine until I had a problem when booking a tour, basically I booked an extra service which I paid on the top of the price of the main tour. When the date of the tour arrived I found out that the extra service I paid for was only covering 1 of the two people of the tour, which was completely no sense because if you are travelling in company you don’t book a service just for one of the two people travelling .. Anyway as soon as the tour guide told me about this situation I cancelled the extra activity with him and contacted GetYourGuide to let them know about the issue and to ask for a refund of this extra money because I was not going to do the activity alone and leave my dad waiting for me hanging around. I did chat with GetYourGuide and in the moment I was reporting the issue they made me think they were going to help me, so I carried out with the tour and basically quit the extra activity paid. After the tour was done on the next day I got an email form GetYourGuide asking for screen shots of the problem I had with the app for them to be able to process the refund... which obviously I did not have because I did not know there was a problem until I got to the tour day. Basically as I could not provide anything, they decided to stay with my money and I did not use the activity thinking they were going to cancel it. Basically I felt that the customer service was completely useless and not trustworthy. I am deleting the app and just carry on using the app I have always used where I had problems but also solutions.

Misleading descriptions of companies and refusal to issue a refund due to policy.

worth reading!!! They allow companies to make a vague description of the people who are allowed to go or are not allowed to go on a trip in different paragraphs, for example “not suitable for pregnant women” somehow you just have to mention that it is not just suitable but if you go further down you will find the paragraph “not allowed” and there it only says luggage, pets etc but it does not say pregnant women at all and if you go further down to the paragraph “know before you go” there you find that pregnant women are not allowed and you wake up so you take a day off from work or you arrive on the day you have to leave and you don’t even go on vacation and you are left with the money, or they say the same with children aged between 1-3 years for certain trips so you pay and then they will contact you about the age of the children and if you took the trip for the next day you find out that you will no longer receive a refund for the money because they do not accept you with the child even though you paid for him because they did not say that they are not accept in the description and the policy says that you are only allowed to refund 24 hours in advance be careful and don't fall into traps like that, there are also local operators you can talk to and get along better than with apps like that
