If you want to keep it simple with no unneeded bloat.

I wish I was wealthy enough to require software to keep a track of my stocks and investment portfolios and check where the markets are at….. I’m not so I have no need for the bells and whistles that gets added to software like this. I want a simple account tracker that tells me this is where you’re at, this is what you’ve spent and what you’ve spent it on. If you wish to track individual expenditure for individual items you can split payments into different categories, I personally don’t need that level of detail but I have still used the the spilt payments. This is where this software excels if you are looking for a simple account and finance tracker that 90% of us would require...you will use pretty much all of the features it does offer and would probably use nothing of what other features it could offer. My one gripe is the way the cleared/uncleared is used in pending payments, but it’s a minor issue that I can get around simply by choosing to show both. I hope the developer doesnn’t end up going full bloat on this software… there may be a market for that, but given the popularity of Debit & Credit, there's one for simple and no fuss as well.

Brilliant…. but we found a bug in the system

We use this application across 2 iphones and a macbook and it syncs brilliantly, we love it.
However, we have discovered a bug. We have a credit card account which we have set as a regular payment in the scheduled section but obviously the amount owed fluctuates. You can alter the scheduled amount and enter it into the account register as a one off when you set up the credit card payment, which seems perfect. However, when you then use the balance forecast this data is not included and gives you a false balance forecast. We then realised that any future transactions noted in the account register are not included in the balance forecast.
I made a previous development suggestion that functionality be added to enable an estimated value to be entered into the scheduled transaction section which can be altered on a monthly basis once the exact amount is known leavning future transactions at the estimated value. I am sure this is not a simple change but one which would significantly improve the product

Truly Exceptional, but keeps getting better

As a pointy headed chartered accountant I have been tracking my personal finances for over two decades on handhelds and have now been with Debit & Credit for nearly a year. Love, Love Love this app, so intuitive and easy to use, every update improves the spec, customer service is second to none. This last update includes the holy grail - reconciliation on the iPhone, so you can sit at your mac /pc, call up the accounts online and reconcile the transactions on iPhone or iPad. For those challenged by reconciling, try this and see how easy it really is.

As always I have a wishlist, a white colour option would be great (got to be boring!) and a permanent section for each account to input account numbers IBANS, sort codes, contact details and pins. Also on multi category transactions, it would be useful to see the difference between the running total entered and the transaction amount.

Strongly recommended.
