Great app - when used with an external mic for voice tracking

I have tried several teleprompt apps for live streaming, webinars and presentations. With voice tracking with is a killer feature because I can speak naturally, pause to take questions, format as bullet points to manage an agenda live etc.I used with a 2021 ipad Pro. With the internal mic I found the voice tracking intermittent. I then hooked up an external semi-pro mic via a USB-C mic dongle and now it works much more smoothly, 99%.What I did notice though is the voice tracking struggles with non-English words when I need to switch to other languages transliterated in my teleprompter script. Work-around is to use the remote control app via my iPhone and to scroll forward. One irritating thing with the remote is it doesn't have a bar to move the script up or down, only arrows to move lines. This means I have to press the remote buttons several times rather than scroll. Other apps allow for smooth remote scrolling so this can be easily fixed I'm sure.
Could be great but let down by small font sizes

I love the VoiceTrack feature. It really helps to make filming with a teleprompter feel more natural compared to the pre-set scrolling on other apps. While not entirely perfect 100% of the time, it’s been pretty close for me. My biggest complaint is with the font size, and lack of ability to make it bigger. I use the app with an iPhone 13 Pro, and when relatively close, it’s fine, but if I’m filming someone further away, or someone who has poorer eyesight, the font is just too small, even at the biggest size, and I can’t understand why there isn’t an option to make it bigger. I’ve seen quite a few complaints about this, and contacted the developer to ask if there was a solution. They sent me a video that they’ve made in response to the font size complaints - showing people how to use the accessibility feature on iOS devices to zoom in to the screen, which really doesn’t solve the problem properly, and is a poor workaround. I can’t think what it would be though there might be a good reason why they haven’t been able to allow for bigger fonts, but I hope it’s something that can be fixed soon. I’ll have to switch to another teleprompter app until then.

I have used this to record dozens of videos. Sometimes the voice track will skip ahead but most of the time it works very well. I’ve used it in selfie mode, and mirrored with a home made autocue and SLR camera - both ways are excellent. The customisation is helpful to get the balance right between text size and the number of words on-screen. I have found voice track works best when using a lapel microphone so the app gets a clean voice input. The app loses a star because when my wife used it to record videos a couple of years ago it didn’t track her voice as well - but works fine when I read her script. I don’t know if this has been rectified recently though.

UPDATE: I was initially very impressed with an earlier version of this app, but I discovered that on longer recordings made on my 2018 iPad 9.7” the video and audio became increasingly out of sync as the recording progressed. I have now switched to another product, and so it would take some getting used to to switch back to PromptSmart Pro again. However, out of courtesy to the developers, who replied to my earlier review asking me to download the latest version to see whether the problem had gone away, I have done so. I've only tried it once, on a reasonably long recording, but it does look like the problem has now been fixed. I think the fairest thing to do, even though I'm not using the software any more except for testing purposes, is to revise my rating to 5 stars: software is an excellent concept, and developers have proved responsive.
