iRecord App enables you to get involved with biological recording. Contribute your species sightings with GPS acquired coordinates, descriptions and other information, thus providing scientists with important new biodiversity information that contributes to nature conservation, planning, research and education.
Your data will be kept secure and will be regularly backed up. Automatic checks will be applied to your observations to help spot potential errors, and experts can review your sightings. All wildlife sightings for non-sensitive species are shared with other users and will be made available to National Recording Schemes, Local Record Centres and Vice County Recorders (VCRs).

Fast and convenient recording
You can record pretty much any wild species of living organism. Handy for random sightings as it picks up gps automatically. Verification of records almost all depends on volunteers, so some groups/areas are verified fast but others may not be verified at all. However your records are saved for your own interest, or for verifiers in the future.
Some species groups (e.g. birds (BirdTrack), fungi, hoverflies) or geographic areas have separate recording systems, but it is possible to download data to pass on elsewhere later on.
Particularly handy for holiday records on the spot.
Great facility for making your wildlife observations valuable! Share your sightings so that the information can be used to help conserve the dwindling wildlife.
The app is easy to use, so you put the records in as you make them based on the info provided by your phone! A few clicks and the sighting is saved for posterity. You can then look back at your results and see them in context with what everyone else has found.
It adds to the fun of spotting something new when you’re on a walk ! Try it, it’s very easy to use.
Quick, easy but missing a few species
I travel a lot so record all over the Uk. I can enter records from everywhere on here easily. However, there have been a few species I’ve not been able to enter (I struggle to remember now but I think it was a fungi and one if the woodlouse species) which has been frustrating. My records also buffered when submitting for about a week a while ago tho they eventually sent. I queried this on Twitter to your account but think that it’s checked rarely or run by volunteers which I respect and understand. Overall tho.. great and thanks for creating this fun app.
