Libib 4+

So far, it’s a pretty good app. There are a few things that could improve it though. Firstly, being able to view titles with cover images as well as a list would be helpful. Secondly, being able to add an image of a book cover when auto-search doesn’t find on when it recognises a book. Thirdly, expanding that app/website to be able to organise a library lending system would be great for our community hall library. So rather than just catalogue which books we have, it would be great if we were able to you Libib to record which books are being loaned/borrowed and by whom (adding the name/ dates), and so to keep track of where the books are when being loaned out !!! A decent app otherwise, so far!!!

This platform is quite useful if you have a large collection of items with barcodes you can scan. Items that cannot be scanned however is a different matter. The app and website function in the same way, but there are a few things missing such as visible artwork and a lacking layout. Basically the app feels very bare bones compared to the website.

There is a social media type system to this platform, but it feels like a wasted feature due to how cryptic it is. Same goes for how viewing someones personal page works. There is a lot of meta data on the backend for the user, but only being able to read reviews on an item to view a weird social page seems off. It would be nice if these pages supplied the meta data from the backend. It would also be nice to see any notes and extra information the user has added.

This app is really useful, but it could do with some love in certain areas to take it from good to great. Also if you plan to use this for comics, be prepared to manually enter each issue due to lacking support of asin or barcode scanning for these items. It works fine with trade copies.

Great for personal use. Very quick and easy to add books. I’ve created the lists by genre and used the notes feature to keep a record of books I’ve read and the date.
Another option though would be to have an unread list and then move the book across to the correct genre list when read. The function to move from list to list is also very simple and easy to use.
I also like how the app states if you’ve already scanned a book with the same barcode, helping to avoid uploading a duplicate in error and how this providing an easy checking system when out shopping to see if I already have a certain book 👍🏼
