LNER Parking 4+

It’s hard to say anything nice about this app. It’s not intuitive in any way and if like me you only knew it existed is when you parked then god help you. I parked up and read the notices so searched out the app. As this became a bit of a long winded process I got on the train and started the process only to find you can’t retrospectively select the time you arrived and if you select the available time just to continue you then need to select the time you’ll leave which with an open return train ticket from LNER (same company apparently) then I obviously don’t know what time I’ll return. All I wanted to do was start a parking session and pay what was due when I got back but apparently that’s not an option. Absolutely pointless for adhoc parking, they have taken everything that was available on the old app and thrown it out. How this is meant to help customers on their journey is a mystery to me. Now looking at the prospect of a parking ticket when I get back 🤬🤬🤬

Like the previous reviewer I have never reviewed an app either but feel obliged to highlight some critical failings with this app and the wider LNER car parking system.

I bought a 3 month season ticket for Peterborough station on 8 Sep using this app and initially all was well. A some subsequent point the electronic pass has been lost from my account. I am now finding it really difficult to access parking services. Yesterday I was actively blocked from using Peterborough car park. The kind station staff came up with a solution that involved me leaving my car in a drop off parking place all day (which probably inconvenienced other customers). Today, after spending an hour on the phone yesterday, I am able to enter the car park again…but as a paying customer. I suspect I need another hour on the phone today.

In summary, this app is not sufficiently mature or reliable to be trusted with major financial transactions. Unfortunately we don’t have much in the way of an alternative.

Awful parking set up and service. Initially was just intending to be 20 minutes which was free, but I may have gone over so I wanted to check. Upon realising I had lost my debit card and had only coins on me I had no way to pay at the car park machines as they are pay on card only.
The information on the board said you could pay via this app or online and there was a contact number to help.
I arrived home expecting to be able to use the app, or the website to pay. They do not allow you to do this. The app is very hard to use and not user friendly. Contact numbers for help take you to services which actually cannot assist with the app or any type of payment.

I will not use this company again and will not be impressed if I do get a fine for possibly going over by a minute or two, especially as I have spent over an hour trying to use the app, the website and their customer services.
