Logic Puzzles - Clue Game 12+

Agree with other reviews about incessant ads being served and the fact you need to do a lot of the block completing element to gain keys to then progress with the real point of this app which is the logic solving. In a way the block challenges to obtain those all important keys IS a logic challenge but of a different kind, and I actually enjoy doing that kind of visual block building exercise. But the ads are really invasive and have the added downside of sucking the life out of my battery. An hour of this app has taken a third of my phone battery already and that’s just not good. App needs optimising to avoid killing the battery and reducing the incessant nature of the ads. Serve the ads but a little less frequently. And get the hint that if I’ve not clicked through on the same game ad again and again I really am not interested in it! Seems free game and puzzle apps these days are free only so that they can serve up ads to other games. So maybe charge me £5 or something to take the ads away. Oh and sort out the battery drain issue please.

EDIT:- following developer response, I was unaware that the option I literally asked for was already there in the settings and for the price is worth paying for an ad free experience. Perhaps also the non serving of ads might improve the battery life as the phone won’t be constantly making server calls to pull down ads. Here’s hoping!

I have nothing but positive things to say about the actual Logic Puzzle side of the app. The UI is very clean and easy to use. Nice and satisfying sound design. Appreciative of the hearts system, although it would be nice to have the option to toggle them as a kind of “hard” mode. But overall a very solid 9/10

Unfortunately after completing a few of the logic puzzles, you have to earn ‘keys’ in order to unlock the next set of puzzles. And you earn said keys by playing a block based mini-game. Sometimes requiring upwards of half an hour of playtime just to unlock enough keys for the next set of puzzles that I actually want to play. Instead I feel the keys could be better off being made optional, potentially used to replenish hearts or earn more hints, for those who need them. Thankfully the developers have made the decision to NOT allow the user to purchase keys. Which is actually a big thumbs up from me, any developer who chooses not to lace their games with endless micro transactions, is a good one in my book.

TLDR: great puzzles but somewhat tedious to unlock more. With some small adjustments would easily be the best logical puzzle app on the store.

This is a decent logic puzzle game, however the need to collect keys to unlock new puzzles takes it from being a logic game to a block breaker game. You will spend a lot more time on these earning keys than you will on logic puzzles. It would be nice if you could earn keys from completing a months worth of daily challenges or from the special “timed” events rather than just getting a trophy/picture. I do appreciate the fact that they don’t expect you to buy keys to progress though. That’s a big plus compared to a lot of other games. If there was a way to earn more keys without having to play block games or it took less keys to unlock, I would change to a 5 star review.
