Loopy Pro: Looper DAW Sampler 4+

Using iPads for audio since around 2012. But the big revolution came (for me) when AUM appeared (more so than the longer established Audiobus). Loopy Pro is (for me) the next step on this journey. As it is an environment that can practically replace anything (depending on your musical approach) as an environment for creating music on the iPad. Provided, that you are into loops! But the depth of editing, the included DAW like element, the ability to create music that can range from mundane dance styles to the most experimental, potentially all without even needing any extra hardware or software - whilst allowing you to effectively utilize all that hardware and software too, is….breathtaking!
There are still a few minor features perhaps missing, and occasionally it might glitch very slightly, but I’m completely on board with loopy pro now, especially as the developer seems to be one of integrity and commitment. So….congratulations to Mr Dev!

Loopy Pro has changed my life.
If you are a live looper and haven’t tried it, please do. Then buy it and tell all your mates. This tool opens up so many creative possibilities. I feel like I can change the world with this app.
Being able to configure the interface how I like really helps me to visualise my workflow. I control my guitar loops with a MIDI footswitch and my synth ones with my finger on the iPad. I use auv3 effects pre- and post- loop and have actions to mute my mic input when I record guitar etc to reduce noise. You can get instant results with this thing but I’ve discovered that with a bit of careful planning, you can build the dream looping setup you’ve always dreamed about… and the one you never knew you needed in the first place!
I’m running it on an old iPad Mini 4 and I use multiple fx, up to 19 loops etc and haven’t noticed any performance issues.

I have used loopy extensively and assumed that this would be a slightly better version, if you like a capacitive upgrade at higher quality/ volume thresholds, but instead it has quickly become my preferred platform for everything music composition related. The retrospective looping feature alone allows me to build up loops and sequences on the fly in a natural way, just building like an audio minecraft, but once iv’e got the basics fleshed out, I can develop and refine, and sequence and develop that idea into a fuller idea. I just to export my bits from loopy into Cubases/ ableton/ logic, now I’m refining in loopy pro. Everyday I’m finding new ways in which this clever application supports and allows me to adapt to its way of working, whilst at the same time allowing me to integtrate my old workflow into an environment of composition, which so far has no boundaries. Simply stunning.
