Fab app it makes ordering so much easier- 5 stars apart from my only gripe which is that the money for the goods is taken before I get to the first window on the drive thru as I've been there before many times and it’s taken longer for the payment to go through via the app than if i just paid with a physical card or cash.
Why if I’m already on site ( the app knows this by using your location) doesn’t the app allow you to actually pay for the food before you get to the window in the drive thru. This would surely allow you to get through that area faster and not have to wait for the tills to catch up. I’ve been asked lots of times to pay twice as the staff don’t think I’ve paid and I have. It’s a little frustrating I have to say.

Charged three times, had to leave drive thru to go instore
Ordered using app for the first time, appeared to go through fine. Arrived at McDonalds & app couldn’t tell we were there, using either full strength 4G or their own WiFi. Tried drive thru who couldn’t access order & sent us inside. Queued for ages while retrying the app which connected and let me pay just as I reached the front of the queue, then gave an error. Showed app to staff member and was required to pay for order again at the till. Ordered was prepared by three people who seemed utterly confused and it was brought out on trays without bags or cup holders, because it had been marked as an instore order (even though I had requested take out). Got it bagged up & took it to the car, food was cold by the time we ate it. Checked my credit card app and have 4 pending payments for the order, one for zero but three separate transactions for the full amount. Staff member said the app ordering has been problematic since it was installed, and they’ve only had one day of it working. Great idea but very poorly executed, won’t bother using it again unless reviews improve. McDonalds should pull the ordering functionality from the app until it works consistently.

I’m NOT lovin’ it!
This app has a painful registration process. I’m not signing up with Facebook or Google, and the app doesn’t support the new Apple signup option to protect my privacy. So I have to fill in the form. NO autocomplete support for the fields. NO password manager support (like 1Password) for creating a password. PASTE has even been disabled. How do you expect us to create, manage or input strong passwords? Oh, you don’t – 16 character password limit, is this 1990?
Also, the font is microscopic, and the user interface is shockingly bad. Who coded this? It doesn’t support native iOS gestures like swiping from the left edge to go back. Every time you go to another app and back to the McDonald’s app (like to WhatsApp to check what your friends want to order) it brings up the promo splash screen again and returns you to the first page, not back to where you were. Why does our postcode HAVE to contain a space? Why do you even need the whole postcode when the first part will do?THIS APP IS SO BAD!!!
McDonald’s don’t care about customer privacy or security, obviously. This stuff is easy. Just do it. (Wrong company slogan).

With the latest version of My McDonald’s app we have introduced registration and log in using Sign in with Apple. You’ll be able to use this once you update our app to version 6.1.1.
