Amazing

Ok so I never leave a review but this app is genuinely amazing. Instead of allowing you to track food and become obsessed with calorie counting. It explains the why. Psychologically, from pts to dieticians to drs etc. In like 3 minute videos so you don’t lose interest in what their actually saying and can take it in. I really recommend it to someone trying to change the headspace their in wirh eating crap etc. The only issue is it updates daily so if you miss a day you can’t go back and see what you’ve missed. So it’d be nice if they had a seperate part so you can go back over things you’ve watched or missed!

It doesn’t work

This app is a nice idea and some of the content is helpful although not always super tangible. But my problem is that it stopped working after a while - which I saw a lot of users complaining about. I deleted and reinstalled the app which seemed to fix the problem at first but it takes you back on day 1 so you have to rewatch the content for 6 weeks. That happened a second time too and I did the same. The third time I just gave up and at this point, I don’t even want to try again because it’s so unreliable that it makes me lose the motivation to follow the content.

This company had another app a couple of years back called Fitspire and there were a lot of similar issues there too which made me also stop using that one. Seeing MEAL, I was silly enough to think that they must’ve listened to the feedback and made an entirely new app to sort out the glitches.

Sadly, I paid for the yearly subscription of MEAL although essentially I could only use it for 6 weeks. It’s a shame because the idea seems quite good and innovative but I think they either need to get the technology right before they release it to the world or release it as a beta version for free to gain enough feedback and fix all the major issues before they charge for it.

Glitchy which is disappointing.

I was excited for this app as I thought it would help with my relationship with food. Sadly, the app is glitchy which leaves me frustrated. The first time I downloaded it, it got stuck on day 2. I uninstalled and redownloaded it only for it to open the days too fast (i.e saying I’m on day 3 when I’m still on day 1) I then uninstall and re-downloaded again and found myself stuck on day 1 because of the Halloween special (which you cant access unless you subscribe). I decided to subscribe (free trial and have now cancelled the subscription) and was stuck there until November 1st when it finally went onto day two. I have been stuck on day 3 since November 2nd…. So disappointed! I also found customer support wasn't very helpful which is a shame (they said day 4 should show itself to me and that was 4 days ago). This app would be great without all the glitches!
