Microtis ,

One of my most-used apps

I have used MM on a daily basis since the days of the iPhone 4. I love the fact that map data is stored in memory regardless of data signal, but I loathe it when upgrading to a new or replacement phone - no OS 25K/50K map data is transferred and it all has to be saved again by laboriously previewing all the areas you are likely to visit. Fortunately, waypoint data *is* saved because this is a huge advantage over other non-GPX mapping systems. I can add notes to waypoints and treat it as a mini GIS. However, I dislike the licensing system intensely because I have lost access to so many useful paid-for maps after numerous iPhone and PC upgrades. This is a waste of my money and really should have been sorted out by the developers by now!

Still Getting There..

I’ve been using this app from before it was an app on pc through the first gen tablets etc, pull up a sandbag.. 😉 I find it very helpful and use it daily.. I will say however, Marks, Routes and Tracks, the handling of is still back last century, categorising moving and deleting etc.. The sync function sort of works but not well, like to see it update in real time where signal allows.. Not being able to select and edit tracks etc on mobile devices is very restricting.. I would also like to see map sets reduced in price.. I will however say it is still my go to mapping app.. Thanks..

Very annoying that backgrounding app causes loss of tracking - otherwise very good

The loss of track recording when backgrounded is a really annoying feature of an otherwise great app. I contacted their support about it years ago and its still not working. You get home from that mega-trek only to find that nothing has been recorded after a certain time. If you use your iPhone for something then having to remember to get MM back to the foreground isn't too bad (still annoying though), but when an incoming text that you don't know about stops the recording it is infuriating.

On my iPhone MM doesn't appear on the Background App Refresh screen to be enabled - I don't know whether this is the problem?

Apart from that it's a really great app!
