Meross 4+

I’ve purchased a smart energy extension lead and some smart energy single sockets which work exactly how I want them! I have them all in the same room with some routines set up and some products set up with timers and these all work perfectly!! However the only issue I have is that I want to replace some other smart plugs and bulbs elsewhere in the house (eventually in most rooms) but the app needs to be able to separate each room as it is already rather cluttered with just the devices I have set up now in a single room! Being able to name devices is ok but doing a test on adding the room name to a device it becomes too long to display the whole name! I don’t want to have to click on each device to find the one I’m looking for if going into a different room and wanting to control other devices…. Really hope this feature can be added as without it I don’t think I’ll be adding any devices to any other rooms in the house

I bought Meross thermostats to reduce and control my energy usage, but despite being an expert-level technologist, I struggle with the Meross app and products. When it works, it works well, but one of the biggest problems is that you can’t control multiple thermostats together. If you have multiple products, you have to set them up and turn them all off individually when you’re away; then all back on individually when you return; there’s no “away” mode. If you want to set everything “away” you need HomeKit; but with HomeKit, you can only set them as off or on - you can’t return them to their configured schedule when you return home. So HomeKit just gives you an on/off switch. And if you want to actually control them while away, you need to buy more Apple hardware (home hub) just to do what the Meross app partly does. The result is you need 2 apps; HomeKit to turn everything off at one touch and Meross to return everything back to your time & temperature schedule - but you’ll still have to set each individual thermostat back to “auto” one at a time. Neither system gives a proper solution, and putting the two together actually makes them harder to use. Support are very responsive, and I really hope they manage to add a schedule option via HomeKit, because as it is, it feels “broken”.

I have over the last year or so invested in about 15 or 16 of the wifi adaptors and have been very satisfied with there performance for the most part. Only occasionally do the products fail but that is the exception rather than the rule. The adapters have changed my home life. Through Alexa I can control them barely having to change my location in the apartment save only that Alexa can hear me over the TV or music playing to achieve a result. One big advantage is being able to program each accessory to come On and turn Off at specific times in the day to suit one’s needs. The software is also updated via Wifi from time to time with the odd bug fix. All I would say is that with security cameras, wifi plugs, PC’s and Macbook’s all in use at the same time does require a good bandwidth/speed and I have at least 600mb download speed to accommodate all these items sobthey perform well and of course there is always the odd glitch which will occur as nothing is perfect in life ! So my advice ..... go and buy some and find out for yourself.
