MileCatcher Mileage Tracker 4+

Great auto tracking app

Being self employed this is a great app as it tracks all your journeys and you can then allocate later as a batch.
Used free version and when that stopped I subscribed as didn’t want to lose it.
Have tried lots of these apps and found this to be the best.
Only annoying thing is that when you have the always on tracking function you get the blue line at the top of your iOS devise, this is a pain but due to Apple and not the app developers. There maybe a way to turn this off but I haven’t found it.

Would Love to Give 5 Stars But.....

I really like this app when it is working and I would definitely take out a premium subscription but.... the ‘when it working’ is the problem.

The app is really buggy and just not reliable. A recent 400 mile plus round trip captured the 1st leg, apparently successfully, but simply would not allow me to classify it. The return leg wasn’t captured at all. I contacted support and have left it for almost 3 weeks with no response. Finally I deleted it and tried to enter both legs manually. This threw up 2 other problems. Firstly it defaults to shortest route and offers no way to adjust the route. Secondly, it doesn’t allow you to enter departure and arrival times that span beyond midnight. Both times have to be on the same day it seems. Pretty basic problem I would suggest.

I have had other bugs too.... apparent failure to capture which was eventually resolved by app deletion and reinstall.

A real pity as it’s brilliant install and forget tool which simply captures everything when it is working properly.

Make it reliable, sort out the bugs and I’ll be at the top of the subscriber list and posting a glowing review here to replace this.

Bloody useless

I’m currently filling in my tax return, yes yes I know I’ve left it quite late but couldn’t be helped due to health reasons. Anyways I’ve come to the part where I need to add my mileage but because I now can’t complete it as this app won’t open.
Extremely annoyed as I thought this was a brilliant app until it’s stopped opening. I’ve updated it. I’ve cleaned my phone to make space in case it can’t open due to not enough storage space on my phone but no nothing has worked.

I am now in a sticky situation of trying to figure out how to work out my mileage for the tax year when I relied on this app. Guess it’s my fault really. I would advise anyone using this app or a similar one that they save themselves the possible trouble and just calculate their mileage the old fashion way. Pen and paper and then transfer it to an excel spreadsheet each month.
